I have read that a USB flash drive can allow up to 1 million erase/rewrite cycles and have a 10 year data retention cycle. If I have 100 GB of data in my hard drive I do not want to record on DVDS or CDS (which also eventually lose their ability to store data or get scratched) am I better off buying an external hard drive? I just want to store that data in a place that isn't as slow as a DVD for the computer to read or that will eventually be lost with time (as in possibly in a USB).
