Do you watch Roman Polanski's movies knowing he is accused of raping a 13 year old?

Woody Allen married his foster daughter, yet he's still making films and people are watching them.

Polanski has two adolescent kiRAB now, I don't know if Emmanuel would have married him if she thought he was a paedophile...
as we go back to the case, the mother had pushed her daughter onto Polanski and he was inevitably on mind altering drugs at the time, this was at Anjelica Huston and Jack Nicholsons house where police arrester Huston for drug posession.

I don't think you can justify his innocence, but I think his life in the years since 1969 must have been awful, he was a suspect, he released graphic crime scene photos, he must think about it every day forty years on, I don't think anyone has that level of regret.

Because his films are made using his film-making talent, not his underage shagging talent. That is why I watch and enjoy his movies. Couldn't really give a monkey's about what he's done outside of his movie-making - and I still think Gary Glitter songs are funny in a camp rabble-rousing fashion, I still think that Judas Priest released some fantastic albums while Dave Holland was their drummer (he's in prison for paedophilia too), I think that Jimmy Page is one of the greatest guitarists who ever lived (he openly admits that he slept with underage girls while on tour with Led Zeppelin). The Rolling Stones were fantastic - and Bill Wyman openly slept with Mandy Smith before she was 16.

I really couldn't care less about their activities away from what they are good at - and just be aware that many "showbiz" types have skeletons in their closet which you may not yet know about. I have no idea what your favourite movie or favourite band are - but if something about the director or star of that movie, or one of the members of that band reveals a sordid past, are you suddenly going to pretend that you don't like that movie or don't like that band anymore?

Leni Reifenstahl made the film, not Hitler. Her body of work in its entirety is very interesting, crediting that particular film to 'Hitler' denigrates her.

That bit about the mother is untrue. Originally the girl was meant to be with another girl but Polanski orchestrated it so that he got the one girl alone.

I've read the story in the victim's own worRAB and I have to say it all rang very true. Polanski came across as quite cunning and predatory. Now she just wants to forget about it but that does NOT excuse what he did.

What about the people who worked with him on films released before anyone knew of the incident? it's most definitely punishing them and all their hard work. That's at least 18 films, by the way.

Wonder how many of the HPDU (Hollywood Polanski Defence Unit) would be fawning over him if he said in passing in an interview, say, that he didnt like working with black actors?.

Would Scorsese, Gilliam et al be so quick to support him. Doubt if we'd see Ms Goldberg say ' it wasnt racism-racism....'. You wouldnt see the HPDU for dust as they ran off in the opposite direction.
