Do you watch Roman Polanski's movies knowing he is accused of raping a 13 year old?

What a bizarrely random sudden launch of tirade. Do you watch 2001 with revulsion at Arthur C Clarke being accused of similar naughties? Or foam at the mouth reading, listening to or watching the myriad adaptations of Lewis Carroll's 'Alice' tales?

Of course it's ok to pick and choose which laws we obey. A 16 year old shagging a 15 year old is technically against the law but there's really nothing morally wrong with it.

I normally tend to follow my own moral conscious rather than the actual laws, if along the way a few small laws get broken then i'll take my chances.

I honestly don't care what he was accused of when I watch his films. He's not onscreen and therefore his presence isn't visibly apparent, whereas an actor you don't like for whatever reason is right in front of you so you can't watch the film without seeing them.

I also think diseased minRAB are just as capable of producing art as healthy minRAB - Picasso liked self-mutilation and Sid Vicious murdered his girlfriend, for example.

I must admit though, watching Jeepers Creepers I didn't think twice about the crime its director committed, although Jeepers Creepers 2 and his earlier Clownhouse do make me feel slightly uncomfortable (especially Clownhouse).

The same goes for Pasolini's movies, knowing what he was into and how he died, especially Salo.

Why do some people keep claiming that 'Polanski was not found guilty' or that he is 'innocent till proven guilty'?
Is it not worth knowing some facts before commenting?
I have not researched it, but the news articles clearly state that:
1) HE admitted having sex with a 13 yr old - not RAPING her in the 'forced violent rape' sense, but statutory rape in that any child underage CANNOT legally consent.
2) He WAS found guilty IN COURT by a judge and was AWAITING sentence when he fleed.

So there is no question of his guilt.
I am not offering any judgement onto those who want to watch his films, I would still myself, as well as works by Lewis Carroll, Jonathon Swift (Gulliver's Travels) and others who have been accused or been convicted of such offences.
As said by others, you just need to seperate the art from the artist - ultimately NONE of us know whether our favourite stars, artists, writers etc are secretly that way inclined, or are closet homophobes or racists.

The point is, there is no question of Polanski's guilt, so can we please have that one cleared up here and now...
