Do you watch more cartoons or less now than you did 5-10 years ago?

Keep in mind 5 years ago was 2005, and 10 years ago was 2000.

Do you watch cartoons more or less now than you did 5 or 10 years ago? For me, its MUCH, MUCH less. All the shows I loved are of course finished now, and there's very little new stuff I'm following.

I'm not sure what it is, but I don't find myself wanting to watch whatever new shows are coming like I used to, where I happened to check out almost everything.

I'm not completely sure about this, but I'll give my best guess. For five years part, it's probably about the same. Five years ago I was still in high school, but I still watched shows on Kids WB, Cartoon Network, Nick and occasionally Disney Channel. I'm sure that I watch less cartoons than I did ten years ago. Granted, I was eleven ten years ago and the work in both high school and college is much more demanding than that of elementary school years. Plus, even in high school, I was losing in interest in most of the shows on Kids' WB, aside from Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh! of course, which changed the amount of shows I saw from that block as I grew older.

I don't think that it has anything to do with recent cartoons in terms of watching less than I did ten years ago. There are plenty of new shows that I do find enjoyable, mostly on Cartoon Network and Nick, but most of those don't air and/or show new episodes until the weekends. I think that it's also because of all of my college work that lead me to watch more DVD's on weekdays than on weekends since I can decide when to watch those shows, instead of worrying about finishing up before a show starts.

I watch about the same but it's more spread out. More streaming, more DVDs, down to more of a Friday night CN fix and one remaining show on Satam (Dinoking) plus Fox on Sunday night as well as South Park and Venture Bros. when they air new eps. On the upside, I've got two current favorites running side-by-side: One Piece on streaming and Batman:B&B on tivo.

I guess I'm still watching cartoons a little less than what I did ten years ago. I can recall watching shows on Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon while doing my homework after school. Now I usually record and watch only new episodes of the cartoons I like and spare to look at other cartoons once in a while.

I think it might be the same, if not a little more. I still watch cartoons on TV like Cartoon Network, Nick, Disney, Nicktoons Network, CW on 4kids, and Fox's Sunday Comedies to name a few. Then the novelty of sites like Crunchy Roll, Hulu, FUNimation's official video player, along with fast internet connection make it worth my time to watch stuff online. I also make it a duty to go into theaters and watch something animated as well. Then there's also stuff I buy or rent that's animation related as well, which is mostly anime. But I think other than buying and renting stuff and internet streaming, I think my viewing of cartoons might have increased.

I haven't watched cartoons on a regular basis since about about 1993-94. I did catch a few now and again after that, thought it was alot more sporadic. Intertests shifted, didn't always have TV service, parents were the type who didn't like me watching cartoons after a certain age. Last show I made any attempt to follow was Yin Yang Yo when it came out in 2006, but life intervened again, and hat pretty much remained forgotten until not too long ago. I'd kind of like to see some stuff again, like Phineas and Ferb (I saw a couple eps when babysitting my nephew) but I justs don't feel it is worth it to buy cable service. Too much money and too many commercials.

I watch less. Not because I think that the shows are bad, it's just that I am on the computer and my family members hog the TV more. I guess I did watch back-to-back episodes of Jimmy Two-Shoes today

I probaly watch a bit less than I did previously, on TV any ways.
Now and days I'll just buy anime on DVD's so I don't have to wait for the next episode. There really are few shows on these days that are good, I mean I'm looking forward to Planet Sheen and still watch Family Guy and The Simpsons and Ben 10 AF and Penguins of Madagascar and Phineas and Ferb. Really, I used to watch a bit more when I was 10 :p

Less, if only because I've become very busy lately as well as no longer having cable but I do keep up on news of upcoming shows and DVD releases.

I think it's about the same as it's always been, but the amount of cartoons I watch has increased by a fair bit. Ten years ago, I would just stick to what I knew I liked (Looney Tunes, "The Simpsons", and "Pok?mon", mostly), and never watch anything else. Nowadays, I'm a lot more open to sitting down and watching a show I've never seen before. In the past year, I've become hooked on shows like "Kim Possible", "American Dad", and "South Park", and now I've got my eye on "Total Drama Island" and "My Life as a Teenage Robot". I'm making a real effort to diversify my tastes a little bit, and I'm having a lot of fun doing it.

Same here. I always stuck to the classic-age stuff, but now I've been trying out a lot of contemporary stuff lately, just for the sake of having variety. Thanks to trying out new things (whadda concept!), I've recently "rediscovered" Ed, Edd & Eddy, among other things (as I've stated in the past, I've also "rediscovered" Hi Hi Puffy Amiyumi, one of those cartoons that I know is bad, but once its on, its hard to turn it off).

If anything, more.

I mean, YouTube wasn't all that widespread five to ten years ago. Thanks to that site, I discovered shows I wouldn't have thought much about in the past (e.g. "Galaxy High"). The pickings have gotten a little slim on regular television (not due to quantity, but to content), but I still seek stuff out.

I still watch cartoons a lot mostly by DVD's. But watch more then I did ten years ago? Nope! 10 years ago I didn't have 2 jobs and I just do more stuff nowadays.

i watch more online and on dvd (since tv to me is boring nowadays and most cartoon shows that are good are on channels i don't have) but back then their were more good shows :)

Less, probably. The only cartoon I go out of my way to watch these days is Clone Wars. I also watch the occasional episode of King of the Hill, Family Guy, or Robot Chicken, which I can pretty much take or leave.

Do shows count if you watch them against your will? Because I am also forced to watch unholy amounts of such gems as Wow Wow Wubbzy, Dora the Explorer, Go, Diego, Go!, and Ni Hao Kai-lan. Or, at the moment, Chuggington. Please end the pain. *hands baseball bat to nearest person*

10 years ago? I was 13 and growing out of cartoons so I didn't really watch much cartoons at all so I definitely watch more now.

5 years ago? Its when I started getting back into cartoons so I probably watch around the same amount.

But if we went back 15 years ago I definitely watched more cartoons, I was still a kid and the tv my main source of entertainment after videogames.

granted I don't watch much tv at all but when I do it does seem to be mostly animated.
