Do you think that if Americans had real culture and history like the Europeans.....?

they wouldn't be so desperate to associate themselves with political sides and identifiers, and would be more unified with finding solutions. I lived here for 20 years, and appears as if the BIGGEST problem is that people have nothing or no real culture to identify with, and therefore focus more on the things that makes them different.

Just a thought!

Actually we do have a very rich culture. Think about the wild west. Where else is that in the world? Well, maybe Australia. But still, our industrial revolution was pretty kick ass.

The problem is our bi-partisan system. With a parliamentary system your are forced to form coalitions to get anything done. Political parties will need to rely on other parties which often denote a compromise and mix up legislation. We do NOT rely on them here in America. Which is probably why our country has been so "Unorthodox" Compared to Europe. But thats what makes us so cool.

So Culture has nothing to do with it. And if you don't like it, I hear you can buy some land in Mexico for cheap. They have a very rich Culture.

Americans have plenty of culture and history and it's shared, as opposed to Europe where it's Balkanized (and, yes, I'm using that term to make a point). As for politics, how many parties are there in France, including the far-right National Front?

Oh, and the modern culture in Europe? Most of it's American.

So you are saying that the American culture is not a culture

or
are you saying to have culture one has to sit in a bar and eat fish and chips while on the government required 30 day vacation ?

Not sure how to answer

I'm going to go watch American football, granted your football is great and I want to go to a Premiership game

Of course America has culture, their are fabulous art galleries, museums, theaters, ballets, opera houses etc.

London and New York are sister cities and there is a common thread and close affinity between the two cities, indeed in many respects New York probably has more in common with London than it does with many US Cities such as Los Angeles or Miami.

No. We have bickered among ourselves throughout our history, and kicked cultured European a s s when they were foolish enough to tick us off. If ya don't like our "culture", Europe is calling for ya.
