...problems to us on Earth? I'm talking about global warming and climate change, etc. Is it inevitable that any civilisation will have these problems as they need to use the planet's resources to advance? Is overcoming these problems what really differentiates advanced civilisations from non-advance (splitting the men from the boys)?
Overpopulation, also.
I'm not assuming they have coal/fossil fuels, etc. But the chances are their planet has a resource that they use which is in limited supply.
