Do you think PS3 will sell well on teh ebay?

its a MUCH different situation though.. for one thing its NOT the only next gen system out there right now, wii is gonna be a BIG hit this christmas lota people are gonna go with this (or the 360) when theres a ps3 shortage.. afterall all the systems are next gen and theres nothing special coming out on ps3 that you cant get elsewhere...

and also the price is too high already, people are bitching like crazy at the RETAIL price, let alone some mark up on ebay

ive been saying that the conditions just arent right to make lots of money doing it, not to say that you might not make 50-100 bucks but after all the effort that takes going into making that money its probably going to be a wash

It's marketing. You obviously have no idea what you're talking about.

The 360 was the only choice last year...that's why it did so well on eBay.

This year people will have 3 choices....2 of which will have plenty of supply. And cheaper. It's a TOTALLY different market situation.

anyone saying no forgets that xbox 360's were selling for $1200-1500 for the first few weeks and that was AFTER xmas. There's only going to be 400,000 PS3's at launch. I'm buying 2

Everyone keeps missing the big picture here. There are WAY more then 400,000 PS fanboys in the US who will want a system at launch and/or Christmas and will be willing to pay a huge markup on price to get it.

If you think PS3's won't sell for ridiculous amounts on e-bay then you're crazy.

1 - The Xbox 360 or Wii ARE NOT SUBSTITUTES for the PS3
2 - There are 400,000 suckers out there who don't care about any of that negative feedback or have not read it.
3 - OTers bitched about the retail price. Is that the sample population you're using?
4 - $1200 is $1200, which is double the PS3 retail value.

again, xbox 360 is NOT a substitute for a PS3

The PS3 is th eonly next generation console as far as I'm concerned so it's the EXACT same situation

It's just like the EVO and STI when they first came out...some dealers were charging 50k for a 30k car. Why were they selling for 20k over msrp? Because a small minority of people were willing to pay.
