Do you think PS3 will sell well on teh ebay?

i kinda of agree that it will be too expensive for the average person, but there will ALWAYS be someone who will pay at least 300 over cost around christmas time just to get jr. to shut the fuck up.

but yeah i dont know if sitting around for 10 hours in the cold plus missing a day of work plus having to actually sell and ship the damn thing is worth it

Well of course the prices will level off as time progresses but it will never hit retail UNTIL they release more units. I've seen this trend on eBay with everything from concert tickets to sneakers. But there are over 9 million people in my city alone... the demand is going to be through the roof. And all those people who want a PS3 will be bidding on eBay fattening our pockets.

thats fine but im telling you youre wrong, im not a fanboy, i like the ps3 and will buy one eventually and i know they will be soldout till march but you simply are NOT going to be selling these things for 1200 on ebay come december, there are OTHER, and some would say, BETTER options as far as next gen goes...

why, why? would anyone pay that much for a ps3 it doesnt make any sense.. what launch titles are going to make it worth it...

everyone has this "well the 360 did it" attitude but the 360 was the FIRST next gen to hit the streets, hell i was lookin at them on ebay, that worked, but its not going to be the same for the THIRD system to hit the market

You're trying to apply logic to irrational fanboys with lots of money. Like I said, you worry about which console you'll find enjoyment in and others will pay $1200 for a PS3 just to have it.

Obviously you'll make a profit....but how much, compared to the hassle in trying to get one is what matters. You're talking $600 for the unit, plus $100-150 in extra fees (ebay, paypal, tax, shipping, etc.). So you're gonna have to sell it for no less than $700-750 just to turn a profit at all. Now....how much is your time and effort worth...how much do you want to make free and clear? If some stores are only getting 10-20 units, you can be sure it won't be a cakewalk trying to get one. For me personally...I'd have to make at least $200, maybe more if I had to camp out overnight. So now you're talking about a $950 sale price (at least), just to make it worth your while. Now if you're 100% confident that it will sell for that much at least....more power to ya. I'm not debating if they'll sell or not...they obviously will...I'm just talking about if the time wasted, will be worth the moeny you make...and if people are willing to pay that much for them.

And Sony plans on having 1.3 million in North America by 12/31/06. The 400k is just first shipment.

Fanboys know what's up....the people that REALLY want a PS3, will get one without going to eBay. Hardcore gamers that aren't fanboys, know to wait for better titles, so they're not pressed to get one at launch (especially with 2 other systems now to hold them over). The situation is different.
