Do you think Michael Jackson's life symbolizes the destructiveness of trying

to escape reality in our culture? I read this New York Times editorial by Bob Hebert today, and it really got me thinking:

Maybe MJ really *does* symbolize our collective desire to overlook reality for fantasy.

It is an interesting enough view. I know plenty of people who I honestly believe have no grasp of reality or how to be part of it. And, of course, I am guilty of it sometimes as well. I am still hoping Spock will marry me...
