...because of their ignorance...? Do you ever feel like you need to educate straight people or tell them off because of their ignorance towards LGBTQ issues in real life? When someone says something offensive do you say anything?

Newsflash! That's not what I meant! In day to day conversation its the people who are straight who are the ones who make negative comments about homosexuality, and its not usually those who are LGBT. I didn't mean that all straight people are ignorant of queer issues because of course they aren't. It wasn't a generalization saying that 'most straight people are ignorant of LGBT issues', but rather one saying 'most people ignorant of LGBT issues people are straight'. I can see how you would interpret it that way and guess I should of phrased it differently though.
