Just a short little diddy response to check your ideas against mine for sociology paper.

it kind of seems that way, in the general sense at least. globalization and corporations are getting more powerful and spreading their influence, but i don't think culture would be the same everywhere in the end. i don't think the people of the world would let that happen. ethnicities would still be different.

I believe we will have more general things in common due to the global economy and the internet.

However, I highly doubt we'd have a global culture because people always seek individuality within a group and groups always seek individuality within a larger group.

Examples can be found in different religious groups that all belong to a general group such as christianity or judaism but differentiate inside such as catholics vs. protestants and hasidic vs. orthodox jews.

I wouldn't say it would be a single culture. But definitely a whole lot more linked than it is now. It will always be difficult to integrate everyone. But the general trend nowadays is disturbingly modeled after America.

Not that there bad people just perhaps not the ideal culture. But with today's level of communication and technology I could be watching a live football game that's being played across the world. So this makes the whole world a lot smaller. Even domestically I can fly to the other states for under a $100 in an hour.
My aunt pops back and forth from Europe every month.

So yes I believe we are heading towards a global culture.
