S stephh Guest Apr 20, 2009 #1 I have 2 freshwater puffer fish, a spotted one and a figure eight. When I shut off the lights, they both go down to the bottom of their tank and stay on the gravel. Are they sleeping?

N NYCoralFrags New member Apr 20, 2009 #3 when your fish goes to the bottom it is resting not sleeping. fish cant sleep because they need to keep water moving over their gills to get oxygen.
