District 9?

Thought it was a wonderful, wonderful film. I didn't find myself looking at a watch throughout it - it kept me really entertained, and the plot was well thought out. Wikus was a really good character, developing throughout.

fair point, though I did say given the nature of some scenes, my arguement of his dissaproval was difficult to substansiate

as there was something, somewhat childlike about him, I got the sense that you remove the power and he may then, begin to question his actions: I got the feeling he had become desensetised to it and yet, was disconnected as a result and after, what happened, through suffering, he connected to his own humanity by knowing the experience of the , well you know

I guess my problem was with the third act, and maybe notsomuch the ending. It just seemed predictable and boring. The flower part was the best intro to a sequel I've seen, so that's something.

Overall a good movie and worth the watch.

Excellent film with a great lead performance from Copley. Would recommend this to anyone who loves great thought provoking science fiction and wonderful gory action.

Agree. But that doesn't explain why the actor sounRAB like one of the Beatles when he got over-excited. It was quite distracting in the film;)

Just seen it at the cinema. I disagree. It was one of the great sci-fi films! So many different elements to it. The lead actor is a star in the making.

I watched it tonight- and it was great! Really ace stuff. My favourite parts are when the main guy is going around the slums and talking to the aliens.
Then I liked the weapons- very nice and fab special effects!
I loved Christophers boy!
I think there should be a sequel!

Absolutely fantastic film, brilliantly executed and keeps you completely gripped all the way through. I was expecting it to be more of an expansion on "Alive in Jo'Burg" but that was obviously never to be. Obviously it was based on it but maybe the complete story hinted at in Alive was too much for one 2 hour film?

Anyway, 9/10 from me.

I went to an 18 one but it wasn't the movie rated 18 - it was the people allowed in to see it. I can highly recommend it - much quieter!
Haven't seen the movie advertised anywhere as an 18. I don't think I would want to see it - quite enough gore in 15 one for the storyline!

The ending was disappointing because it wasn't resolved properly. It's as if it was obviousll left open for a sequel. I don't know why Wikus van der Merwe was appointed to the job as the main character because it was a job he was clearly not suited for - it should have been a much more ruthless character.

Going to see this tonight, am looking forward to it!
There was a massive amount of publicity about it in America when we were there a few months ago!

How was the ending not resolved ? Its quite clear what happened to van der Merwe in the end !

Also, he was obviously not up to the job in hand, but was given it purely because his Father in law got him it, and he wanted a fall guy. That was the point.

:)
