Disfunction. 2

We're all trying to be normal, whatever we think normal is.

Its sad, but the vast, vast majority of people think they're hopelessly different from everybody else, and suffer from an eternal feeling of isolation. We're constantly trying to be normal because we know that if we're normal, we're perfect, because we're brainwashed to think that everybody except us is perfect (or close to it).

This theory has tons of flaws... please, rip right through it. Hell, even I only slightly agree with it.

i say we all go drink some pepsi....watch the real world on MTV...put spinners on our cars [rims].....and listen to britney spears.....ya??

normal is how people percieve it to be... something that you see as normal can seem as very different than how other people see it. what i see as normal, is strange in the eyes of everybody else.

it's fucked up, yet it's life.

Exactly. That's why we feel so goddamned different, because we are and we can't accept it.

"Normal" is such a strange thing to strive for, but it's the goal for almost all of us (no matter what we define normal as being). I don't know why we're wired this way, but it seems almost all of us are.

exactly...so lets say someone in africa thinks its kewl to put elephant dung on their head....we think its sick....they think wearing jean is fuckin crazy...
culture has a huge part in this...

we've got the the dictionary definition of normal, then we got everyone elses spin on it...
normal...is being happy? but no ones happy all the time so that'd be normal too...okay maybe normal is coping with shit cus thats pretty damn normal...
i do know whats NOT normal though and thats what i try to avoid...well most of the time

there's no such thing as "normal."

i see myself as normal... nobody else sees me as normal... therefore, i am normal, yet i am not normal.

Personally I take pride in not being normal...I have a strong sense of non-conformity. I love not doing what is mainstream. To me, cool is being unique, very unique. I have a strong sense of Geek Chic. If I was just a conformist, I would most likely be happy all the time, but to be raped of individuality is being raped of all things that make you what you are.

All in all, it's just a better idea to be yourself. Look at wiggers, you can't tell one from the other. They all act and look the same. By fighting the system, you are making a much stronger statement than conforming to it. It's like saying "I have my own value system, and I am smart enough to figure out what is intelligent to follow, and what is really not. I know that what is dictated by society is not necessarily right, or helps mankind."
