Digimon Adventure 02 on CR and Funi Talkback (spoilers)

Yeah them too, who despite what the dub says, died.

Speaking of which, what does this mean for Mummymon and Arukenimon?, they died in the boarderline between the two worlRAB.

Wait a minute, didn't Vamdemon die in the human world as well?

Yeah, I thought of the same thing when I saw the recap subtitles. I got a good laugh out it at least.

I thought that this was a nice episode, but I agree that Miyako could not have been more obvious of her fangirlness over Mimi. She did keep on calling Michael dreamy, but I thought that it was pretty clear that Miyako was jealous of Michael being around Mimi and not spending as much time as she wanted with her. I remeraber in the dub the kiRAB had Digidollars instead of yen, which was fun to remeraber.

I was surprised that Miyako could get her second Digimental by crying out like that. Then again, Daisuke got his second one by admitting how much he messed up with fighting MentalGreymon. While it is cool how Shurimon has those spring-like legs and was like a ninja, I was never that interested in him. Then again, I pretty much only liked Fladramon and Raidramon when I first watched the dub. It was cool how Shurimon got rid of the Evil Spiral though.

I kind of thought of that too when I first saw the dub. It would be pretty cool if that was the case.

I could see that as being a possibility, considering how the episode and the D-Reaper plot have some similar characteristics.

Overall, it was a fun episode. I mostly got a laugh from Miyako going completely fangirl over Mimi. Mimi punching Sukamon and Chumon was a nice touch too. I'm not sure how I'll feel about the next episode since I don't recall enjoying that much from the dub, but maybe it will be different. I'll be happy to watch it next week and see how it turns out.

He's a vampire. You don't just kill vampires that easily XD

He died, came back as VenomVamdemon and then died again... and you know what happened after that.

Good now I can disguess my complete thoughts without holding back.

I was thinking, it was kind of dark to kill off all of the DNA Digimon, they killed off an entire species. They could have left one of them alive. I know there was only three of them in the series, Mummymon would be my choice to be the survivor of his kind, since Blackwargreymon sacrifice was necessary, so he had to die.

I saw episodes 25 and 26. I did like how Daisuke was really trying to help Ken out. I could see why people were shipping Miyako and Ken after that episode. At least she started to trust Ken a bit more. I found it funny that Mimi was there two out of four times when Hawkmon got a new evolution. It was cool to see Aquilamon again. I was glad that they know that Ken wasn't behind turning the Dark Towers into Digimon. The message Miyako gave Ken was also really cute.

As for this episode, it was really great. I was so happy that there were new images in the theme song. I thought that it would be really weird to keep the armor evolutions when they would hardly be used in future episodes. And hooray for including Ken too. On a side note, I always thought that it was extremely odd that the dub kept that image of Ken as the Digimon Emperor until the end of the series. I was always wondering why they never added the more recent villans.

Anyway, I actually thought Daisuke talking about how he could understand Ken's heart was actually kind of sweet. Iori has a lot of forgiveness issues apparently. I did feel bad for Ken when he leanred that he was used as the Digimon Kasier. He really didn't understand what he was doing until he was well over his head. At least Wormmon was always there with him. Veemon eating the chocolate egg and then all of the Digimon coming out was pretty cute too.

I could understand why Ken wanted to take care of the problem all by himself, but I'm glad that Daisuke and X-Veemon brought them back to their senses. I have to admit that Ken not wanting to see the Digital World suffer or see his parents sad was quite touching. And yes, the beginning of my second favorite Digivolution method, not to mention the first appearance of one of the coolest Digimon in this series. It's Paildramon. Awesome.

Overall, it was a really cool episode. We got to see more into Ken's feelings, the mysterious new villain, mysterious for the chosen children anyway, and the appearance of Palidramon. I'm so exicited from watching this episode that I'm definitely going to watch the next one tomorrow night.

At least it wasn't as obvious as Miyako's fantasy with Mimi or her reaction to Mimin when she appeared again with Michael. Though, I'm sure there were shippers all over this once they saw some episodes like this.

Yeah, it's pretty awesome. It sounRAB tougher than his dub voice, I think.

I thought that I remerabred that slap from watching the dub version.

I didn't think that it gave any more spoilers than the previous ending theme did. I'm just glad that they did change it since I was hoping for something new after hearing that song for twenty-five episodes. It wasn't bad, but I was getting a tad tired of it. I kind of like the beat of this song better, but I'll need to listen to it a couple of more times before deciding whether or not I really like it.

I'll edit or post again when I watch the other episodes.

Oh you have NO idea. Some of these people are still saying those two belong together (Though after seeing this episode, I think I know where they're coming from)

I prefer this one actually. It sounRAB nicer and smooth.

I love the second ending!

You know...as far as normal champions go the new guys from 02 kinda sucked. Stingmon was awesome, XV-mon was nice but a bit bland, Aquillamon is just bland but with horns and Ankylomon sucks.

In fact Armadillomon and Digmon are the only worthwhile design of the whole line (well Submarimon looks cool but is impractical), even if Shakkoumon can kick butt its still lame compared to the other Jogress. I mean Ankylomon doesn't get to do ANYTHING the episode it first shows up!! Even Fairymon and Sunflowemon did better in their introduction and those two LOST their first battle!

And is there any fights in the whole show where you're thinking 'thank god Ankylmon is here!'. Beside just being there for Shakkoumon component?

Why must you bring up the painful past again?

That always kind of seemed kind of weird to me. I mean, they could pick it up, they didn't have to make it look like such a cop out.

Nah, keep it going - it's still a good topic.

Anyway, I found that the series got rather repetitive at this point. I never terribly cared for Zero Two from the start (Ken was interesting enough that he could have been the series' main villian; his lack of mystique hardly brought him down that much), but with the Holy Stones, the episodes were getting increasingly predictable.

You don't understand. What I meant was that they scrapped the idea of a season three, thereby they had to make that ending. Had they made a third, that ending wouldn't have happened.

Well the D-Reaper is a very lovecraftian creature. An elder shapeless being who is beyond good and evil and spawns creatures that are essentially nightmare fuel. I mean when it started speaking with Jeri's voice...

"GLORIOUS CHAOS! YOUR WORLD WILL BE DELETED!!!"

That's okay. It took me awhile to watch this episode since I've been busy with school and stuff.

I thought that this was a pretty cool episode. The best parts were definitely when Ken heard Devimon questioning if he could handle the Dark Power, Takeru's flasrabroadack and, of course, how he pretty much beat the living crud out of Ken. That was totally awesome. It's just too bad that this was pretty much the only interesting thing he does throughout this whole series.

For some reason, I didn't think of Ken playing dress up as an evil villain until this episode. Though it probably helps that this episode mentions the first major Digimon villain. Compared to pretty much all of the villains Takeru faced with the other original Chosen Children, especially everything from Myotismon to the final villain, Ken just really does look like a spoiled brat. Sure, he's smart, but he's really over his head here.

Overall, it was a good episode. I just can't get over wishing that Takeru had that much more action again in future episodes. I will be looking foreword to next week's episode since that's one of my favorites during this arc. Not to mention the shiny new evolution we'll get out of it too.

So true. I was really surprised with how much he beat up Ken. Takeru usually has a pretty calm demeanor and it's a shame that he doesn't get this mad again. Not even when they're fighting BlackWarGreymon.

True since outside of water battles, Submarimon really isn't that useful and I think that they rarely have battles invovling the water in this series.

That was a good line and I actually prefer that over Ken just calling Takeru Maggot again. This line at least hints at Ken realizing his mistake in the near future.

Yeah, that was pretty bad. It isn't as bad as some of the other lines in this arc and it unfortunately isn't funny enough to make it so bad, it's actually funny either.

I always did find Daisuke pretty interesting, as while as Miyako, in the dub. Daisuke had pretty good development, mostly in the second half though. I never did care too much for Iori. I guess it has to do with how he was pretty dull. Not to mention that I never did like his dub voice. The only time I found Iori interesting was near the end of the series when they brought up his dad and his friend, but even that didn't make him that interesting.

That would be interesting since the original Chosen Children did have some development outside of their Digimon partner's new evolution. I think Daisuke did get some of that treatment during some parts of the second half with his frienRABhip with Ken, but I don't think Miyako or Iori had some time to really develop their personalities.

Considering how Adventure 02 left some questions unanswered, mainly about the Dark Ocean, the idea of a third series afterword would have been an interesting idea. That might have given the Adventure series a better sense of conclusion for many fans, but I agree with garfield15 that going with Tamers was a better idea overall.

Ah, yes, Odaiba Memorial.

I actually missed the episode when it aired on television, but through long-ago finding clips of the Japanese, I get the sort of feel this episode was supposed to have. Wizarmon was a sad character, though nearly as always, the Japanese voice beat the English to the punch.

Meanwhile, thus begins the downfall of the Kaiser arc, which IMHO should have ended the series.
