Digimon Adventure 02 on CR and Funi Talkback (spoilers)

Yeah, it was definitely creepy. While seeing Dagomon twice was still pretty scary, I agree that seeing it only at the end would have been a more powerful way to end the episode.

Yeah, I was kind of confused on that. Of course, I haven't seen Adventure 01 for quite some time.

I agree. I thought that I saw some subdued hits on their feelings throughout the episode, which was pretty cute.

That makes sense. Hikari was able to break the evil spirals with her own Light power so that could have caused Tailmon to evolve, along with the intense situation.

Thank you. I really appreciate your kind congratulations.

Takeru-san!! That's one of his best moment ever!

Seriously this is something they should have emphasized more.

"I faced Myotismon, the Dark Master and Apokalymon...you're nothing compared to them KEN, you're just a spoiled brat who's just angry at the world. You don't know a thing about true Dark Power!"

Or lines like that. Hikari and Takeru fought against far more impressive enemies. I bet Takeru could have ended it right there if Kimeramon hadn't struck the base

He would have had come out with Ken tied up in his own whip hehehehe.

Sorry Lucario-chan. Last episode, we couldn't do our light banter as usual

-Takeru-kun AKA. TOTAL BADASS!

I mean seriously, wow! I always thought Takeru going off like that is was as likely as....well...as likely as this happening

I mean, dang. I loved the part where he smiled and then proceded to beat the living heck out of Ken. I bet he got that from his brother

-And so begins Ken going through his emo period.
"BWAHAHA! Look how Chaotic Evil I am! BWAHAHAHA! I'm the Digimon Kaiser...oh god somebody hold me..."

-DEVIMON! AHH KILL IT KILL IT! Well that is one nice piece of fanservice (The other kind). I really have to comment on how much of a badass Devimon was/is. Even he neeRAB to warn others of the darkness that could potientally come after the one who wants the power.

-Oh Davis, your time to fly will come...in champion...and jogress...and ultimate....

But yeah, at least Submarimon was useful for something (and this is probably the last time we see him be useful too)

-What was with the random music? At the beginning of the episode, they were playing some sort of sort of jazzy beat while Iori and Takeru were looking for Ken's base. And at the Ken vs. Takeru fight, they played some random folk tune.

FUNNY DUB MOMENTS

Actual funny:
Gatomon: Does he always snore like that?
Veemon: Yeah.
Gatomon: How do you sleep at night?
Veemon: I don't

Can I just say something here. That one was at the beginning when V-Mon and Tailmon were not speaking anything and the only reason it worked was because they timed the camera and script just right so that it would show the character the moment they were talking. They go to great lengths to edit this stuff don't they?

Derek Stephen Prince moment
Ken: I...I guess I'm not as cool as I thought I was (YA THINK!?)

Stupid Funny
Patamon: Wanna fight?
Wormon: Actually I prefer a staring contest
Me: STOP USING THE CAMERA FOR MOMENTS LIKE THIS!

3 nw episodes unlocked on Crunchyroll!!

Anybody else took the time to watch them yet?

Okay I might just not remeraber but I don't recall them using japanese honorifics before but in the Miyako in Kyoto episode they started popping up like crazy!

These subs have been fun but they could try to stay consistant.

So on to the episode...here we have the begining of the Holy Stone storyline. Those thingimajig really came out of nowhere...I was hoping the sub would make more sense than the dub but alas it was not meant to be.

Agumon is a better philosopher in the original though I do miss the dub's mention of 'its not the fighting that matters its what you're fighting for', I seem to recall Agumon saying that right in that episode...or maybe I'm confused and he only said that later the next time they meet.

Miyako in Kyoto was the best episode of the three if you ask me. Ken to the rescue further milking of Shurimon's badass ninja theme and some very nice bits of folklore. Though I was VERY dissapointed they subbed 'tanuki' as 'badger' considering all the stuff they left unchanged! I mean com'on! At least call them 'raccoon-dog' or just 'raccoons', its at least closer than a badger! When Miyako returns Musyamon to the Digital World we already see shades of her reluctance to destroy Digimons! I think that's something that was missing from the dub so I'm pretty glad to see it there.

Next episode we have the return of 'angry Takeru' and a really nice fake out since you'd expect Angemon and Ankylomon to Jogress Digivolve The fight between BWG and HolyAngemon was too short for my taste and the music when it happened kinda sucked :/ I think it could have been far more impressive than that. HolyAngemon gave Piedmon a run for his money solo and was the one who delivered the finisher with his gate!

Once again Ankylomon was useless

And so begins Crunchyroll's broadcast of 3 episodes a week.

Episode 23: WHEN THE DIGIVICE IS TAINTED BY DARKNES
Episode 24: ANKYLOMON: WARRIOR OF THE EARTH
Episode 25: AQUILAMON: THE KNIGHT OF THE SKY

Yay Ken's not emo anymore!

At the same time, it looks like some of the most memorable villains in Digimon history are coming....

Heh, I seriously laughed at Veemon continuously failing to evolve.

And thus the MiyakoXKen shipping....begins

Why was Daisuke so sad to be left with HIKARI the girl he has a crush on >.>

I guess Miyako's raining on his parade or something

Those moving islanRAB are such silly fun!

I thought that Mimi moved to america, was a way to keep the nuraber of her episode appearance down because they had limits on the availability of Ai Maeda, but if you notice she is not the only one of the older chosens that appeared very little. Sora and Jyuu appeared in almost as few episodes, Taichi and Yamato in more episodes but not by much, the only semi regular of the older kiRAB was Koshiro.

For those that think that Mimi moving to america was something they didn't intend to do original, it had a purpose, it was a way to incorporate international Chosen Children.

But I notice something else about Mimi, anyone realise this but

Mimi never appeared in the same place as the other older Chosens till the last episode.

I always thought they should a filler episode in which Daisuke and Mummymon were trapped in the same place and forced to coexcist, or havd Daisuke captured by Arukenimon and Mummymon and have a capturer and capturie converstaion about thie lives, just for the realisation, they are two peas in the same pod. I always thought that some things go beyond who's side you are on, and love is one of them. And I thought they would defentely empathise with each other's situations in the love department. Not to mention their lack of respect by their comraRAB.

Actually that's not true in the long run. The front page focuses on the major releases they have coming up. Digimon was listed until episode 16 became available for everyone today. Expect to see 17 show up on the list on Monday or Tuesday.

As for why they don't have 16 on the just released section, it'd because it was made available back in Deceraber for all Anime Merabership subscribers.

Yeah, this is more or less the only time in the entire series that Takeru ever does anything remotely cool. The writers really should've shown that side of him more often. It would have made him a much more interesting character.

My favorite paraphrased line in the dub (and possibly in the whole "season"):

Ken: "Into the dark vortex, Wormmon! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA-eh, it's not that funny."

And speaking of using "tricks" to give the characters more dialogue, I think seasons 3 and 4 were the worst offenders by making the characters "think" their lines when their lips weren't moving.

I think they added in some lines in the dub to make it more of a Takeru / Hikari ship, because Japanese are better at getting suttlty. That is my guess.

Anyway I also wish they went back to this storyline. Maybe if they did a third Adventures season.

Speaking of the dub, I was watching the dubs of all of the series recently, which character had the worst dub voice?

The one character that really breaks my heart and really angers me is Ranamon. One of my favorite characters from Frontier, and those stupid dub writers just runied it. She was perfect the way she was. I can understand why they had to change RhondoKnightmon, but nothing about Ranamon was controversal that it had to be changed.

Episode 32 was okay, for filler, though angsty BWG remains the redeeming grace.

Episode 33 - This one was okay. Yes, it's good to see the ties between Japanese folklore and the Digital World, but really, it can't be denied this is filler. AND it's the *only* evidence of Kenyako, in addition to episode 25, post the Kaiser's fall.

And as for episode 34: WHY DID HOLYANGEMON HAVE TO *JUST* FAIL?!?!

I always thought they should have made Takeru the leader instead of introducting a new guy... I mean he's the veteran of the group! The one who was in the action the longest!

I guess they needed a Dragon to get the kiRAB to buy the toys or somethin

Huh...she was in Odaiba Memorial just two (or was it three?) episodes ago. With everybody else.

Episode 32 wasn't filler, it was the start of the Holy Stone storyline!

I see Episode 33 as a sort of prototype world tour since Miyako use the 'open a gate on a laptop and throw the badguys in' method they'll use later.
