Did St Paul draw on his own Roman/Greek culture and legends to tell the story of Christ?

It is said that most of the new testament was written by Paul sometime after the death of Christ. Paul, originally Saul, was a Roman and would have spoken Greek as Romans in the middle east did then. The name Jesus Christ is from Greek origins not Jewish. Paul didn't even mention Jesus's Jewish name and mentioned very little of Jesus's Jewish cultural background.
