Did Eddie Lawson race a Kawasaki GPZ 750 R1...?

I have been told that my 82 Kawa R1 is a Eddie Lawson track bike but I can't find any info that he rode a 750? If you have any links or history for this bike in the U.S. please send them along. Ty
