Destroy the Rebirth - "Gundam 00" Season 2 on SyFy's Ani-Monday Talkback

My one problem with the dub is the whole "repeat every major revelation in shock" routine that I remeraber Ocean also doing in their dub of Inu Yasha. While this is a fault with the original, a truly good dub would probably write the reaction to be different.

Let me give a crappy example that's not actually taken from a show.

Overtly Accurate:
Badguy: "Now, I will unleash The Power!"
Goodguy: *stuned* "Unleash...The Power...?"

Written to Flow BetteR:
Badguy: "Now, I will unleash The Power!"
Goodguy: *stuned* "But that...he's insane..."

Yeah, a really, really crappy demonstration, but I hope this gets across what I mean.

Anyway, I've really been enjoying Gundam 00. It definately gives me a Wing nostalgia rush, and the designs are just beautiful.

Losing 10 and 11's epilogues really hurt.

"Uh, I guess it's docked." Wow, brilliant observation Saji, are you sure you were an engineer?

Ribbins giving one of his hypocrit speeches, condeeming people for looking down at people, he is the ultimate look down at everybody person.

This is a bit early, but just so people know Ani-Monday will be airing an hour later than usual thanks to a 9 PM showing of the movie National Treasure.

That means the schedule will look like this:

12 AM: Operation Alleujah Rescue
12:30 AM: A Reason To Battle

Hey guys, I wonder what happens in episode 3 of season two?

Imprisoned with Haro? Now that is cruel and unusual punishment. Not that I have much against Haro, but it would certainly be annoying having to talk with a spherical robot that says everything twice twice.

So I guess Sumeragi been on a drinking binge for the past five years.

Oh, thanks for blowing her cover Setsuna.

Whoa, Sumeragi is actually dressing modesty!

Mabye it has Somthing to do with his Gundam,. Like the GN Partacils making him Mutate/Evolve into an innovater or somthing like that.

I really don't know, but its not that suprising since Innovators are simmilar to Newman or what ever people who could naturally flow with Gundams were called in the older sereis.

I guess this will be the last time we use that Sci Fi Channel pic for this thread.

Thanks for the heaRAB up about the time change.

To HellCat: I agree with the message, and the meaning presented in the story.

But would the message still been just as effective if Ribbons wasn't the one to finally duel Sestuna? Having Ribbons be the final boss isn't very dramatic if you want a epic duel. Ribbons is the sort of person that a mental defeat would have been a suitable climax.

Or better, why not have two on-going parallel climaxes? One in which Ribbons is explained why he is wrong and realizes it to his horror, while a titanic duel is waging outside?

Or, Ribbons controlling two bodies at once, while Setsuna and Teria battle him at the same time!

Hurray, she's got her kingdom back!

Louise is no longer psycho

Who was that keeled over?

Watch yourselves, CB.

WHAAAA????!!!!!!!! Reaaally didn't see that coming.

Ah, Lyle's alive.

Split personality couple lives too.

A farewell message from Neo...

1st OP song!

Setsuna lives!

It's almost like The Dark Knight's ending there.

And now, my Bandai Mecha Trifecta viewing is complete.

I think everyone has considered doing that to Setsuna

So Baron Harrkonen is showing up with an attack fleet. No big surprise.

Whoa, Lousie is becoming Gollum!

No, No, Marina is pulling a Lacus! NOoooooooooo!

And apparently Setsuna is seeing hallucinations...Or is he?

Whoa, I guess you don't mess with Nena.

In season two, they aired short epilogues that led into the next episode. Sci-fi didn't show the first one at all. I wonder if that'll be true in each case...

Well, here's what happened in the first one. We're shown that Saji's been taken aboard Ptolemy II. Tieria asks Saji why he didn't shoot Setsuna. Saji answers that he'd be the same as them if he had. Tieria remarks that he should be grateful to Setsuna, since if they'd left him behind he would've been executed as a Katharon rebel. This angers Saji, but Tieria tells him that he doesn't understand the reality of the world. Meanwhile Setsuna suits up in a Celestial Being uniform, and the show cuts to him confronting Lyle Dylandy. Setsuna announces that he knows Lyle is a Katharon agent. Lyle suspects he's from the Government, but Setsuna declares himself as a Gundam Meister and says that Lyle will become one also.

Why? I don't see any use of nuclear power/weapons either. So just because it's "THE FUTURE!" doesn't mean it exists. All it would take is a nuraber of terrorist attacks using thermobarics for the weapon to fall in disuse.

In addition, there could be any nuraber of clues left in the installation after Katharon abandoned/was forced out. Clues could lead to other targets. Materials could be used in propaganda pieces.
