Destroy the Rebirth - "Gundam 00" Season 2 on SyFy's Ani-Monday Talkback

I got to hand it to Ms. Fanservice, she managed to create an impressive attack using the local terrain to their advantage. Bonus points for creating a tidal wave, causing both chaos and mucking up their foes.

Oh, wet Soma!

Man, Gundam is really going into sterotypes here. Apprently, all Irishmen are awesome snipers.

I loved this episode! Action, explosions, a daring rescue by storming the castle! This is what draws me to G00, the battles!

Great, for some reason I keep on seeing TollexFllay for some reason.

And thus, Alleluia discovers God.

"You have my undying gratitude!"

Wait, they bust your backs saving your neck and nation, and you just give your thanks? Dude, pin a medal or something! They deserve it.

Feldt like Lockon!

Wow, Lockon II is trying to put on the moves! Yeah!

Baron Harkonnen Sighting!

"He comes from a middle eastern nation!"
Yeah, middle eastern nation. Really specific dudes.

You think Marina would dress in something...more comfortable? I mean Sumeragi or Feldt must have something they can lend to the Princess.

This is the talkback for the US debut of Mobile Suit Gundam 00 Season 2 on Sci-Fi (soon to be SyFy in a few days)

Last season on Mobile Suit Gundam 00:

The private military organization Celestial Being declared open hostilities against the world, swearing to eliminate all war through the use of their advanced GN Drive powered mobile suits known as Gundams. As the three major powers of the Union, Human Reform League and AEU failed to stop the actions of Celestial Being, a traitor within the organization provided the world with GN Drives of their own in a successful bid to fight back.

Four years later, the majority of humanity is united as the Earth Sphere Federation. But at the centre of this new government lurks a sinister conspiracy. Now, a revived Celestial Being must return to battle to make right the nightmare world they created.(times EST)

Tonight on Mobile Suit Gundam Season 2 (EST):
11:00 PM Episode 1: THE ANGEL'S SECOND ADVENT
11:30 PM Episode 2: TWIN DRIVE

Last week ended with the Gundam Meisters covering Katharon's escape from their demolished base. The four Gundams and the Ptolemy are facing an A-Laws strike force including Mr. Bushido, Soma Peries, Louise Halevy, and Andrei Smirnov. This battle over the ocean, however, is being fought without Sumeragi's tactical forecasting. Before long Alleujah is trying to get through to Soma, and Setsuna has his hanRAB full with Mr. Bushido. Meanwhile, aboard the ship, a repentant Saji Crossroad decides help Ian with the Ptolemy's cover fire. But when an enemy mobile suit heaRAB straight for the ship, Saji is hesitant to pull the trigger...and unknown to him, Louise is the pilot.

Here's tonight's schedule:

11 PM: With Reunions and Departure
11:30 PM: Pure Distortion

Hmm, this should be a good week...

Although to be fair, for all the serious and emotional impact the most recent episode has, the concept that we saw is a wee bit silly. Heck even I was incredulous to it when I saw it, but knew (or slowly knew anyway) the power of it. Even then, at the back of my mind, there's still that "Boy this is good, if a bit silly" mentality.

Also is it just me or when one thinks about, one can find this a good opportunity for Setsuna to recite the "Team America" speech given at the end of that film that involves naughty bits and how one naughty bit has to make sure the other naughty bits behave?

Oh. My. God. Gundam 00 has just become Gundam Wing. I had to do a double-take for a second, I had thought that Heero and Relena were on my screen again.

Anything in the supplemental material that might shed some light?

I'm not trying to excuse what Nena did, nor was I trying to say what she done was justified.

But something about her behavior points out all the signs of a typical sf character: The Born Killing Machine. A person raised separate from society to go off and destroy everything. Her odd behavior, my suspicions about her origins and upbringing, and her childishness/psychopathic personality all point to this. If my suspicions are correct, Nena is just a victim as anyone else.

While it doesn't excuse her actions, its a little more understandable why she did it.

And speaking of "water under the bridge", it seems like a lot of people in this series should realize that. The past is the past. If you continue to live in it, you'll never be able to move on. But no, most of the people we do see who refuse to do that end up destroying themselves.

You and me both.

In fact, I hate those Innovators with a passion not seen since Rau le Cruset, Ali, Andrei, and Superboy-Prime.

I'm surprised that the episode didn't falter out on the action. After Anew's escape, would would have thought they would have focused on less actions-intense sequences.

Am I the only one, who found it weird how Ian describe Anew in front of his wife, and she didn't mind.

From what I hear on the news, Obama is going to have a couple of people that are in conflict over the White House for a bear.

And what is the deal with the Innovators, do they have genders? A couple of them that are suppose to be male, have female voice actors.

Not a bad way to start season 2, I only caught a little bit of the first season when it aired on Ani-Monday, but I vow to never miss an episode of season 2. I like the show so far, a lot of story and interaction and a few nice action sequences tossed in for good measure. The battle at the end of the 11:30 showing was pretty cool, quick, but cool.

Well That was thuroghly enjoyable, I just wish Sci-fi would quite cutting in & out of commercials without warning!

But still Kudos To Scy-fy for airing Gundam00 & Kudos for keeping telivised anime alive. & of course kudos for sticking to your name by providing me with Sci-fi entertainment be it live action, reality or Anime! Well Time to Watch Robot chicken now. Later!

Ion cannon deployed.

So I guess Nena still hasn't gotten over her brother's deaths. Actually, it was kind of cool to see her have a reaction to Ali like that.
