Derren Brown Live: Hero at 30,000 feet, C4 10pm

I remember a few years ago, he "pushed" viewers into their chairs, I fell straight backwarRAB into mine - it was an amazing trick. I'm sad it's come to rubbish shows like this one.
 
So let me get this straight..... he's just been hypnotised in broad daylight during a flight. This was probably filmed weeks ago.

Now they're going 'live', at night, with Matt still hypnotised in a fake cockpit?

Wouldn't the weeks in between the original filming and tonight have any kind of effect?
 
Reading the rest of that paragraph I'd say they were probably joking (they go onto mention all sorts of weird phenomena that circle watchers believe and even mention satanists)

I have made no claim of what hypnosis is to defend or provide evidence of.

You on the other hand have made claims as to what it is and isn't and we are still awaiting your supportive evidence.

Please stop your childish baiting as it won't get you what you want.
 
You are stretching here...it could of course be coincidence that the poster on his blog in March says he's been to his show and calls himself Matt but also includes his girlfrienRAB name which is exactly the same as our Matts girlfriend ---but I doubt it.

Bearing in mind you couldn't be bothered to watch the whole show and didn't seem to rate it that highly , why are you defending Derren so vigorously ?.

Hats off to the first poster who said that Derren had "jumped the shark". The wikipedia entry is an interesting read. I suspect that Derren jumped the shark some time ago.

The mistake with the "Casino" program was that the camera shots were electronically manipulated to try to show interference, but it was done in such an amateur way that anyone with some knowledge in this area, immediately knew that the pictures were faked.

In the "Hero" program the footage from the so-called "hidden cameras" had a venetian blind like effect added as if to tell (chav) viewers "this footage is really from a hidden camera". No camera generates footage like this. Again it smacks of amateurism and as soon as I saw this I knew the whole program was a set-up. You would have thought that Derren/producers wouldn't make the same mistake twice :D.

The rest of the hidden-footage looked implausible to me, and I was waiting for the Matt stooge/actor to hit his head on one of the so-called hidden cameras or to physically bump into a cameramen in the street.

I just watched the interview with the GF and mother, and again for some reason it seemed un-real or acted. Perhaps they were too good an actress?

After 10-15 minutes I stopped watching.

I liked the 'completely unbelievable' line he used tonight.

I think why opinion of him is dropping so quickly is that he's showing an almost disdain for the audience. This really started with the National Lottery one, and has got progressively worse.

Even the way the shows are (falsely) promoted is one giant pisstake of the audience, and then it continues with the show itself.

Considering how he started, it's all a bit ... odd.
 
Perhaps this is like that 'Why Don't You' show that used to be on when I was a kid. It was so dire and full of bloody awful posh kiRAB that I used to turn it off and do something else.
