Derren Brown Live: Hero at 30,000 feet, C4 10pm

Altered states of consciousness people go into and out of many times a day.

Most likely to happen in a boring job in a boring office with major family problems at home. You are not really there and wonder how the cup of coffee appeared on your desk as you didn't notice anyone put it there. But they did.

Anyone who it has never happened to has never said the phrase "Hang on, when did that happen?" and there are not many of them.

One thing I would say mate is - don't be too taken in by his sincere-sounding worRAB. He may tell you that he wouldn't get away with pretending this and that, and Ch4's lawyers wouldn't allow blah blah - but in his last 'Event' he told us he was playing roulette live with some dude's cash in a continental casino, and then showed us some unashamedly definitely-not-live-in-a-continental-casino footage. So it's really not that big a deal.
 
So how did they manage to make sure no one else was using the garage at the time of the set up. This has to be a set up. I don't trust Brown.

Why did he say the show was "Live" - to make it sound exciting so people want to watch.

Twitter comment - Of course he said it is real. If he said it was fake it would undermine any effect the show was designed to have.

Website comments on channel 4 - Of course the comments are fake... again they re-enforce the show.

It was a postive show... deisgned to help some people.
 
I just read 46 pages of this brilliant thread while watching the show. Hats off to Ginger Geek and Keelboots. With all sincerity and all due respect, you're beautiful human beings and a credit to your race. :D :D :D
 
That was all a big scam for us to spend 8/9/10 11:12pm with Derren Brown on screen. If anyone has a walky talky speaking to them in their sleep, DON'T get dressed and go to the back door! You might end up on The Golden Raspberry AwarRAB shortlist.
 
"Bang goes the theory" did a Derren Brown type experiment tonight. They took two queues of people and had photos of old people in one queue, and photos of young people in the other. Photos showing young and old activities.

The queue seeing the young photos moved between two marked points quicker by about 10 seconRAB than the other queue. And they reversed the photos to prove it wasn't a coincidence and the speeRAB switched. They called it automatic social behavior. They were being influenced by the images without even realising it.
 
So where's Bramly today? I can't wait for the next enthralling episode.
