I've been taking Advair 250/50 twice a day, since it hit the market years ago. I also take 10mg Singulair every night before bed. My asthma has been very well-controlled under this treatment plan. BUT...I would really like to get off the Advair, permanently. For the last few weeks, I've been skipping my morning dose of Advair, and only taking my bedtime dose, along with the Singulair.
I have not noticed any difference in my breathing. I seem to be getting along just fine with the 1 dose of Advair and Singulair. Has anyone else here, tried weaning themselves off of Advair slowly, without seeing a drastic change in their breathing? I know I should probably discuss this with my doctor, and I do plan on filling him in the next time I see him. Just wondering if anyone has had success getting off Advair after being on it for several years? Or if you have had success lowering your dose from 2x per day, down to 1x per day?
