Death Note US Remake being written

^^Like Efron, the reserablance is creepily uncanny. I approve 100%


The trick, of course, isn't the live-action itself but the writing and plot....which, if put in stupid hanRAB, will result in a cosmic fail of a pretty good manga/anime.
 
Zac Efron's acting isn't all that great, and he isn't my first choice for Light by far.... but hey, he MIGHT could pull it off. And on the bright side, it would bring tweenage girls, soccer moms, and Disney looneys into the Death Note fandom. And c'mon guys... the events following would be to golden not to want to see, if you get my picture.
 
You know, I'm really hoping for David Cronenberg to direct the film but if not, then if Elfen Lied were to get the live action treatment then I hope Cronenberg directs that one instead.
 
You mean it wasn't just me who kept on thinking of Soichiro Yagami when I saw Commissioner Gordon in "The Dark Knight" for the first time? HIGH FIVE!!
 
i think the cast should be:

Light: Zac Efron (de-tan a lot)
Ryuk: Oh wait he died (giant from big fish) had an uncanny reserablence
Ryuk voice:Bryon drummond
Misa:Christina Ricci(like her character in black snake moan, blonde)
Ren:Frances de la Tour (Maxime in Harry potter) dub voice kinda sound alike
Ren Voice:tv show dub voice
L: Daniel Radcliffe (wear a black wig)
Mellow: Andrew Caldwell (He eats chocolate, right?)
Near: Freddie Highmore
Matsuda:Shia lebeof (with curly hair)

I don't think america likes CGI in thrillers much, so the shinigame probably need to be real people
 
Yeah, I enjoy the film too. But critics are critics, they want perfection, not fun.

(If only WB gotten DB....If only...If only.)

Not all critics. Most just have experience and so with that in mind it's going to be hard to enjoy what you view as popcorn fluff in comparison to what you view as art. It's all about the context.
 
I will watch this movie, on DVD.

There's no way in heck that I'm gonna waste my money on "crap" like this by going to see it at the movie theaters.
 
What's even better is that we already know he can play the Cop/Detective with a good heart, so this is something I really want to happen.
 
In New York? Are you sure? There are a lot of people in that place. And there are a lot of things in New York that aren't anywhere else.



Which is a change that should be made.
 
As long as they stick to the original "formula", cast really promising actors. I don't see anything wrong with it. Because stuff like this can either make or break the actors. And would leave a sour taste on fans.
