Death Magnetic

I still have not listened to it. I use to love metallica. But after the black album I gave up. I never heard anything by them again that really got me siked. Even the black album has some wuss songs. Is this new disk worth listening to? I can honestly say I am scared to check it out. St. Anger was the worst crap I have ever heard.

I honestly thought the album was pretty awesome. My only complaint would be that a few of the songs drag on a bit too long. All Nightmare Long, Broken Beat & Scarred and Suicide & Redemption would be my personal favourites.

I see people flaming Suicide & Redemption all the time but once it draws you in it's a great instrumental if you truly appreciate music.

Also, I myself love Metallica's 80's work. People need to realise they're not in their 20's anymore. Age does take it's toll in places. They're still one the best banRAB around in my opinion. Better than a majority of this metalcore crap on the market nowadays.

A little off subject, but the last post reminded me of how much I liked the S&M album because it was the only Metallica album we could listen to on road trips and stuff as a family. My mom would put "For Whom the Bell Tolls" on repeat. It was weird, but completely awesome too! lol. It brings back good memories.

This track and for that matter the entire new album is obviously far from their best. No Metallica release will ever be good enough to hold up to MOP and Kill Em All etc but then again thats not something I'm ever expecting so I'm never gonna be disappointed by this. The new album sounRAB like 40+ year olRAB playing thrash metal so it was always going to lack in some ways and it was never going to be mindblowing.

With that said and out the way I'm thrilled that the band are most definitely taking a step back in the right direction with this record. This is new Metallica the way I want it to sound and pisses all over St. Anger. Not that thats hard mind you.

Love the track, like the album a lot.

I will give the album a listen but the single does'nt seem to be all that. I think they have to hold their hanRAB up and say that their time is gone. How is this any different to what's out there?

I hate to say it, but Metallica has fallen lower than a pussy anthill with Death Ma***tic...

AND GUESS WHAT I DO? I EAT PUSSY ANTS FOR BREAKFASSSSTTT!!!!

But hey, at-least we still have Iron Maiden, right guys?

My roomate is a huge metallica fan and i can see it in him that he knows that the album is crap but he doesn't want to admit it because that's his favorite band... i find it quite humorous

as for my opinion... they should have retired years ago, i'm not a fan by any means but i've heard more than my share of songs from them and you can hear when a band has lost its touch

actually ironically, those are old riRAB.

squizz at xm talked to the metal militia and they said what they were doing with this album was pulling out every old recording they ever made including all the riRAB and drum lines and potential songs clear back from the start of metallica that they had saved and locked away somewere.

as far as my apocalypse, i cant say a best or wersed song yet i want to listen to the album more first that in my opinion isn`t the best though.

lars and that damn snair i swear man,:drummer:

kirk did good i feel especially around 2:30 but he always does good.

something i noticed about this album in comparisom to ..umm how bout the black album, something i noticed was it sounded like james is "trying" to sing in some of it versus songs like through the never or enter sandman he just did it. but hey just my 0.02$ -Dave

Come on. This is about the heaviest these old farts are gonna' get. Would I choose to listen to it? Probably not. I disowned them when the black album came out, but I'd call the album, at the least a step in the right direction.

what the hell are those last two.

i happen to have only one game system, that happens to be an N64.

I live with my parents yes, but only because i am not yet old enough to move out.

Exactly just how old are you gramps?

I hope you don't get sued too! I'd approach downloading anything from Metallica with trepidation, before ya know it, you'll have Lars at your door with a crew of lawyers in suits ready to throw the book at ya!

Not sure whats more scary, an older, greying Lars or the law talking guys...

First off, I love Metallica. They're the reason I ever started listening to music. I even thought Load and ReLoad were great rock albums, but St. Anger turned me off so much that I completely stopped paying attention to this band.

With that said, I wasn't expecting much from this. But I think, at least judging by this one song alone, they've made a step in the right direction. It's nothing brilliant at all and they'll never be what they were, but I like it. Hopefully the record is also just as decent.
