Lots and lots of blankets.
When I lived in the middle of nowhere when I was in 3rd grade our electric was out for 3 days and we didn't have a fireplace. We were piled with 3 feet of snow. We ate crackers and peanut butter sandwiches. Our water came from a well, so that was good, we just didn't get any hot water, so no baths. We basically bundled ourselves under every blanket in the house for those 3 dyas.
