I'm going tomorrow cause of the snow. I'm really worried with the ending change, I don't want to hate this movie

EXACTLYYYYYYY!

I was completely disappointed, but I still cried in one scene

I don't know. Honestly I don't really want to go see the movie and have my absolute favorite book destroyed because they wanted to make it more pleasurable to those who didn't read the book. There shouldn't be a possibility of what could happen because that's not the ending. :irked:

[sp] Tim was a creepy old guy. Like how can you have her marry him when he was clearly so much older. He had a wife and kid, which I was upset Alan was now his child, that wasn't the point. And they made it sound like she married him cause he was sick, way to make her selfish. The point of the book was learning to forgo your happiness to make someone else happy[/sp]

[sp]Okay all I have to say is I am so disappointed with this movie. I don't give a rats ass if they had a lot to fit in, they destroyed my favorite book for me. I don't like Channing never have. Amanda was good and all. I don't like how they made Savannah's parents all rich and crap. And Tim dying was BS. The whole point to this book was the first lines of it... "What does true love really mean?" And the book was about what you would sacrifice for love. This was not at all what it could have been. I am truly sad this was the outcome of a novel that was brilliant and powerful.[/sp]

Based on the novel by Nicholas Sparks, when Savannah Lynn Curtis comes into his life, John Tyree knows he is ready to turn over a new leaf. An angry rebel, he had enlisted in the army after high school, not knowing what else to do. Then, during a furlough, he meets the girl of his dreams. Savannah Lynn Curtis is attending college in North Carolina, working for Habitat for Humanity, and totally unprepared for the passionate attraction she feels for John Tyree. The attraction is mutual and quickly grows into the kind of love that leaves Savannah vowing to wait for John while he finishes his tour of duty, and John realizing that he's ready to settle down with the young woman who has captured his heart. Neither can foresee that 9/11 is about to change the world and will force John to risk every hope and dream that he's ever had. Like so many proud men and women, John must choose between love and country. And like all those left behind, Savannah must decide to wait or move on.

That song, and Amanda's voice, is ridiculously pretty. :sigh:

Loving the premiere pictures, too!

I read the book and have yet to see the movie. Most likely will go next weekend since I was broke this past weekend.

I'm not sure if I will like the new ending. It will be less bittersweet and romantic, but at least they will end up together right? Makes it less sad and tragic.

Amanda's voice is so beautiful! And she looks gorgeous.
