Daybreak, First Day in, Improvement?

They've just lifted the GMTV format, made it a tad more indepth and changed the set/graphics. When Kate & Dan presented the other day, the ratings went up and fell back down with the return of A&C. ITV could easily have achieved better ratings and saved money by making the same changes but keeping the GMTV branding (although changing the on screen look in accordance ie red sofa and orange logo instead of purple). They should have stuck with their original plan of bringing back Eamonn Holmes with Kate/Emma hosting alongside him. Its their greed that has got them into this mess.

They should have got him to interview Prince Charles - he would have been much much better than them two.

When she made an one-off appearance on GMtv interviewing a couple successful female football players at the time (I think), she was awful and there was a few viewers from Ireland who already knew of her said she was just as awful presenter there and to keep her over here!! :D

Not a fan of all these news items in the morning. If I want news there is BBC1 they'd have been ebtter off putting some shows/ mini programs on I think.

I agree! It's only been on for two days so the fact that there are a few kinks that need to be smoothed out should be expected. I imagine Adrian and Christine and the rest of the presenters will settle into the show soon enough.

Some people are being far too harsh with their feedback considering it's stlll so early on in the whole thing.

It seemed to be a case of "what was she not wearing??!"

The crew were probably quite pleased though.....and Adrian, perhaps.

Couldn't stand either of them on the One Show and now think they deserve their early morning slot as everytime I turn it on there is only ever adverts or the 'competition'. ITV are totally rubbish especially with sport and now Adrian is on there too. Thank god for BBC Breakfast News and SkySports.

I couldnt watch more than 5 minutes of Daybreak when it first launched, I really cant stand that hideous Adrian Chiles / Christian Bleakley combination, its a really unpleasant way to start any day.

I switched it on thursday and Kate Garroway and some other guy were presenting it and found myself surprisingly enjoying it for the 30mins I had it on, it seemed more fresh and natural for some reason, tuned back on friday and the gruesome twosome were back and switched right off.

I think ITV have made a massive and expensive mistake hiring those 2 to be the main anchors, I dont know a single person that likes either of them. I think the show has potential .they just need start getting rid of the bits that dont work ie AC/CB but unfortunately that wont happen for a long time.

I haven't watch Daybreak since the first day. I can't stand squinting Adrian sitting there trying to read the autocues. He seems to think that by lolling about and looking scruffy he gives the impression of being so down to earth and unaffected, but it doesn't work!

However, when I came downstairs my daughter had got Daybreak on and was watching the eagle. We both found it quite horrible. The poor bird flew straight past ACs outstretched and gauntleted hand to land high up on metal rafters.

CB then started squealing and the bird looked quite distressed and for a minute it looked as though it was going to get its line tangled around the rafters. I really expected it to hang itself from the rafters with CB still squealing like a parrot. That really would have made the headlines!

The never ending trailers they've been running don't make me want to watch it - and despite the fact the I'm obviously supposed to hink that Christine and Adrian are the wonderful perfect charisma filled couple to wake up to in the morning, they are not.

GMTV was bad, but the replacement is no better.

Car crash TV at it's worse.

Least the BBC do serious news in the morning before 8:30am

Not all Breakfast viewers are so thick that we need to be asked questions at

No they don't, wasn't there any explination at the beginning of the show? Perhaps they have a day off a month written into their contracts, was anything mentioned yesterday?
