Well yea it can be done if your doing the install??....
IMO go with power bass you should be able to fine them off the internet or local dealer.
2 12 inch in a box and a amp should run 225 to 300, door speakers you can get any name brand stuff will work, Jensen,sony,ETC but you should get them at the same time as you get your subs...
check around in your area you should be able to get a deal...

Im looking to upgrade the stereo in my friend's 97 Ford Escort. I want to spend between $250 and $350. The upgrade would preferably include 2 new 6.5inch speakers, 2 new 5x7 speakers, a new deck, and a sub or two. Id like a detailed answer on what items to buy, best placement for subs, any other pieces of wisdom, etc. Subs can be put anywhere, i just need to know the BEST place for this car. remember, nothing more than $350 total. Don't say it cant be done, because even without using craigslist or ebay i have found complete systems for the price range im looking for. Most importantly, we want LOTS more bass, and a deck that has an aux. input. We arent looking for crap components either. Thank you in advance
