Current Bands we will be talking about in 25yrs

That's pretty much what I was getting at. So regardless of how the music sounRAB, aside from the genre 'Christian rock', you're mostly turned off by the lyrical content?

I know of banRAB who, when I was told were Christian/some other religion, I was surprised. Take MewithoutYou, for instance. I wouldn't guess they were religious by lyric alone. While that's only an example, the point I'm making is how religious does it have to be for you to not like it?

Just curious.

Just when it gets really preachy. I'm not sure I want to start a religious debate or anything...so sorry beforehand if I am getting offensive.

I can handle banRAB where the lyrics are still poetic and I can attach my own personal meaning to it. When they start directly talking about god, jesus, the bible...etc...that's when I find it hard to listen to it. Not that I would bash people who follow those beliefs, I just find it hard to listen to music that I don't personally agree with.

But Christian rock really annoys me and aside from the content, it tells me how bad a person's music taste is.

LOL, of all the ones he listed the one with the least staying power is blink 182?

Yes Satchmo I did.

I can't imagine you'd remeraber me as my input at the time would have been fairly underwhelming.
Still is I guess, just more recent!

Current banRAB = banRAB formed in the 00s or late 90s. Not a band that formed in 1985. I'll give you the Collective though.

I havent heard any rumors about Nickelback breaking up any time soon, so that tells me that they may stay around for a long period of time producing even more albums to come, but who knows? Are you sure for a fact that Nickelback doesnt have any fans with our youth of the nations? (only old people like them?)
(Statement) "and all the old people who are going to buy their garbage already do". I dont mean to insult you sir, but I dont where you are going with this statement. As for 3 doors down, I get the feeling that you have never really listened to them very much. Let me try to make a little better point, for what it is worth, (I mean who am I to say). 3 doors down has written alot of ballaRAB/easy listening singles that are very well done in my opinion. And Nickelback has done the exact same thing with they're songwriting, I would think that songs such as ballaRAB that touch the heart by saying more about Love & emotions will survive easy. so in my opinion these type of songs are better remerabered than alot of the heavy stuff, Who knows! these banRAB could stay together & make albums toghether for the next 25 years or more, or they may splinter off to other banRAB, We can debate more further on this subject if you wish my Brother, Rock On!

Because at the moment they aren't doing anything, I think they're taking time off. Their last album sold shit loaRAB. (Suitable measurement)

Before Only By The Night they were talked about a lot for being a cool bluesy southern rock band. And then Only By The Night hit and they were talked about by 14 year old girls, mainly discussing Sex On Fire.

I was gonna point that out but I thought meh, he probably lives in the USA.. So he's picked up you lot don't say 'German' what a tool.

i figured Radiohead would still be current since they are still putting out recorRAB. I mean, people in this thread have been talking about Green Day haven't they? Didn't they form in 87' or something?

I'm talking about music lovers. I think he'll wind up the future equivalent of someone like Sun Ra, especially considering how prolific he is.

Guessing who the general public is going to be talking about is easy: no one. People who aren't music buRAB don't really sit around talking music in the first place.
