Cricket WAP Info get in here!!

I currently have an Audiovox CDM-8910 on Cricket in Phoenix, wife wanted to cut down the cell bill ($300 a month for both of us w/Sprint on awesome Hitachi SH-G1000's... I miss my old phone). I've had the thing for about a month or so and not having any form of internet connection on my phone is driving me insane. After lookin gthis thing up, I find that it normally ships with a web browser. quick call to Cricket shows that they either remove it or hide it before sending it out.

Ok... Question 1 - Is it possible to get the browser reinstalled or enabled on this phone and if so, how do I set it up to work.

In the event that this can't be done, I have an old Moto v265 that I had on some budget carrier called NECC. I remerabered that this thing had a browser on it, so I charged it and fired it up and, sure enough there it was. Now, we bought a pair of v265's for my kiRAB from Cricket, and the browser is missing from their phones.

Anywho... I do have a copy of Phone Tools 4.0 and a USB cable which I used to grab my pics off the phone and manage my contacts and calendar.

Question 2 - Can I flash this phone over to Cricket and get the web browser working? What will I need other than PST?

All I really need to be able to do is check my Gmail account and get CNN/MSNBC updates throughout the day.

Oh...

Question 3 - Assuming that I get the v265 going, can I use it as a modem for my laptop as well on Cricket? This was something I found invaluable with my old phone as I could hit the web in places where there wasn't a wifi hotspot.

Ok, yeah I spoke with Cricket's lead tech about the issue and he said the same thing. Would not say when, but it looks like they are working towarRAB providing data services in the future, no dates but that is one of Cricket's goals. Now we just have to wait and see how long... :D

:^/ I've sent them to you. You have two copies of each, one just as on the phone, one after further tinkering. The good news is that now ##DEBUG# reports AN/AAA Auth state as authenticated, for the first time.

On the other hand, changing over a dozen passworRAB to cricket is overkill. I'm sure that I could change only one or two and get the same effect, but I'll have to play around to determine which ones.

There it is, everything listed in the ({menu}073887*) programming menu. I created a dozen or so different backup files with PST, basicly everything that was valid for the 265 and PST would allow to be read from the hanRABet. If you need more data just let me know.

easiest solution is to up the files from the alltel v3m thread to your e816...

after that, everything will work except for incomming mms...

enjoy.

i have been thtough all threaRAB several times. working on my issue for over three days. I have a VZW Palm Treo 700WX flashed to use the cricket network. I can not find any relevant info on how to set up the WAP and MMS settings to work with cricket. Can anyone help me please... 9185049171 [email protected] thank you in advance.

calm down there buddy...

you can ask all the questions you like, but i was giving you a very definite answer that is common knowledge here on the cricket boarRAB...

i commend you for trying to work on it yourself...that is much better than most of the newbs here...

on a positive note, you can stop killing yourself...there is no solution for wap/mms on any sprint sanyo as far as i know...

enjoy the forums and don't be so sensitive...you will get bashed way harder for way less in the future...

ok so here's my problem..i got all the wap settings from cricket and i am trying to put them on my treo 600 the problem is that when i right the settings to the phone it does not save them...why is it doing this

Thanks for the info, I found some info on here from Mark Venture that led me to Flash the E816 with the Amp'd firmware on it to the Alltel E815 Firmware and then I used the PST data files that Phx_Cricket posted and now my WAP & MMS work perfectly. This forum rocks!! Next project my wife's Motorola V265 that's on cricket. Maybe I'll end up giving her a silver and black paperweight for her b-day.... :hehehe:

:^/ I've learned how to get Cricket Internet (x1, NOT EVDO) working on my Sprint 755p.

I adapted these instructions from similar instructions for another Tr

Update: I've followed as much of the info in this thread as I could. Apparently, the version of PST I was using didn't support everything (7.1.1). I've since found 7.2.3 and looks like I've done this correctly. I'll be calling Cricket in a bit in order to switch the service from the 8910 to the v265.

One question still remains: Can the v265 be used as a modem for a PC or laptop through Phone Tools 4.0? I see the option to set up the connection in PT4, but since I didn't have the phone flipped to Cricket, I didn't even look into it.

If this works out, I'm going to attempt to do the same with my Hitachi SH-G1000 PDA phone. I have a couple of spares, so I'm not worried about bricking the phone.

i did everything u said for my treo 755 and it says...connect to internet "would you like to connect" i select yes and it says"preparing vision services..your phone must be configured for vision services" i do it and then it says connecting to sprint provisioning then an error:3000...i need help please email me at [email protected]....
