i have spoke with several people at a couple of different crickets stores here in TN and they say that in June Cricket will start carrying blackberries

So will this allow us to fully flash a non cricket blackberry to work with all the functions

BS, Its going to be the Motorola QA30 "Hint" @ $249.99 and QA4 "Halo" @ $299.99

blackberryesque but not a blackberry. P.S. The blackberry is junk. Get a Mogul or something similar.

i will also confirm, but not to that date, that cricket will be releasing and supporting "some" blackberry service this year. dont think u will see it in june though.... paln for q3/q4 of this year

i can sum it up in 3 worRAB, " I doubt it", cricket and blackberry is like nextel and good coverage. Don't hold your breathe kiddos........ This is in referrence to fully flashing rim devices

;^) In January 2007 I did my own research and learned that Cricket wireless service had the best prices for service out there. Unlimited minutes for about the same cost per month as my land line.

Next, I looked for phones that used the same frequencies and protocols, namely 800 1900 Mhz and CDMA. It was obvious that the Trēo 755p could work on Cricket, but it wasn't available at that time.

I contacted both Cricket and Palm via telephone and explained it to them, and asked whether either had considered such an arrangement. Each separately confided that such a deal was in negotiation and would happen "any day now," so I waited.

:^( By January 2008, a year later, there was no indication that their talks had gone anywhere. So, I took the plunge and bought a Trēo 755P (Sprint) without a service place, and set about getting it flashed to Cricket on my own. The guy at the shop could get voice and text to work by changing the PRL, but he couldn't get the Internet to work. Soooo, I hopped online and set about learning to do that on my own.

no one at any store knows about anything coming out down the road.. i've heard all kinRAB of crazy stuff from people getting things mixed up. when asking our reps about the blackberry... and pointing out that metro has it, and cricket is set to leap (pun intended) over metro's subs sometime this year or next, and carriers much smaller than cricket or metro do offer blackberry service... the only answer i've gotten so far is that this hint is coming soon, and the evoke/halo iscoming shortly after that. i think because of crickets position in tier 2 & 3 markets vs metros position in teir 1 & 2 markets make metro a better candidate for blackberry.
I think that once data roaming for at least PEC is available there may be significant change in Cricket's PDA/Blackberry position.
Also if metro and cricket can convince RIM to develop a Tri-Band CDMA model the likelyhood increases even more. But I beleive that this will depend on the success of the Curve on Metro.
Anyone that says Blackberry is junk is just plain wrong, I'm sorry, It may not be for you, but push Email and IM is just f'ing awesome, I tried a G1 and promptly returned it because it was lacking key functionality that my blackberry had.
