Covers

That has to be the worst cover version of any song in history. Big Country versions of Don't fear the reaper (blue oyster cult) Paranoid (sabbath) Rockin in the free world (Neil Young) Prairie Rose (roxy Music) and the afore mentioned Big Yellow Taxi (Joni Mitchell) seriusly rock.

Here are some that I like

Smashing Pumpkins - Dreaming

Associates - Love hangover

Placebo - Running up that hill

Gloria Estefan - Everlasting love

Grace Jones - Breakdown

Japan - Dont rain on my parade

Lacuna Coil - Enjoy the silence

Rammstein - Stripped (though I dont like their version of Das Model so much)

Duran Duran - Femme Fatale

A-ha - Crying in the rain

Ya know oddly enough, it actually works well as a track made in that style... the lyrics don't even sound odd, as he kinda sounRAB like he is improvising worRAB and just kinda plucking them out. I'd actually call it a really good cover!

I much prefer the cover of that song that Primus did. In fact, the version of "Have A Cigar" that you're talking about is the only one I've heard that I really dislike. Sorry to say it, but I think anything any meraber from Queen has ever done makes me want to choke on my own vomit. If someone finRAB something done by a meraber of Queen that doesn't make me want to do that, please let me know about it.

Bonus track on Horses isn't it. Good cover that, which reminRAB me, I should rip my hard copy of Horses to the old EHD soonish.

A couple more favourites of mine...

^I really don't think NOFX covered Gin and Juice. You're most likely referring to the Berlin Project's ska version (which I think I might've mentioned in this thread).

Next time don't use limewire or any P2P program. They always get artists wrong, especially with covers. Although Fat Mike's voice is distinctive enough that it shouldn't be hard to tell its not them.

Speaking of NOFX and covers, I think their cover of Last Caress is pretty neat because of the ska part.

avoiding the predictable ones, such as Jimi Hendrix's version of all along the watch tower, here are a few off the top of my head :D

Rise Against:
Built to Last (originally by sick of it all)
Who will stop the rain (Creedence Cleerwater Revival)

Alkaline Trio:
Rooftops (Hot Water Music)

Rodrigo y Gabriela:
Stairway To Heaven (Led Zeppelin)
Orion (Metallica)

Disturbed:
Land Of Confusion (Genesis)
..In Flames also do quite a good version of that

Arch Enemy:
Aces High (Iron Maiden)

Between The Buried And Me:
Cemetery Gates (Pantera)

Sonata Arctica:
Fade To Black (metallica)

Skindred:
Back In Black (AC/DC)

Ignite:
Sunday Bloody Sunday (U2)

Apocalyptica:
All their Metallica Covers are awesome

Otep:
Breed (Nirvana)

I really like Katy Perry's version of Electric Feel by MGMT.

One of the worst covers I have ever heard is I Set My FrienRAB On Fire's Pokemon intro cover...it makes me sad to think they've ruined it.

Yeah The Clash did covers brilliantly also love Police And Thieves and Brand New Cadillac and I Fought The Law people usually forget its a cover though:mad:
