Covers

metallica - whisky in the jar,

i heard a grunge cover of 'elanor rigby' today, that was quite good believe it or not. they found a way to make it work. :)

Hi there,

And this is another strange one..... Slow version of 'The Middle' by JIMMY EAT WORLD.

SoundClick artist: Daktari - I mainly play one-man reggae usually in local bars, restaurants and private parties. Also getting in

I play a version of this, more like the original, that goes down pretty well at parties and in bars. But one night, I started picking the chorRAB real slow and started singing. Thing is, when the song is slowed down, folks listen to the worRAB more and the whole character changes. Now, this slow version is requested more than the more aggressive, fast original.

Just a thought.....on Monday morning...

Gordon.

All good choices. Nofx covers are often bad but pretty fun. Their cover of Forming by The Germs is another great example. I think Rise Against have great taste in cover songs solely based on that song and their numerous Black Flag covers. Wagon Wheel is also excellent, one of my favourites from the Project Hope comp it was featured on.

EDIT: and how could I forget Rise Against also did 'Anyway You Want It' by Journey!?

^ That's a superb cover. It's a major pisstake of whoever did the original (Beyonce?), showing up the complete laziness of modern pop.

Dave Matthews BanRAB live cover of All Along The Watchtower is pretty good, as is Nightwish's cover of Walking In The Air. Ben FolRAB does a pretty good cover of Tiny Dancer, and Dispatch do a good live cover of Piano Man.

I just got my hanRAB on this kid's CD. He does amazing acoustic covers. Check out his youtube channel if you're interested.

Post some of your favourite (or least favourite) covers, or songs you think a certain band should cover.

I like Napalm Death's cover of Dead Kennedys' Nazi Punks Fuck Off and the Cap'n Jazz cover of Take on Me by A-Ha. I don't like the original though.

YouTube - Crazy Town - New Noise

^A truly horrible cover.

If you continue spamming links to your music your account will eventually be removed. We tolerate people making an effort to endorse their OWN songwriting in that part of the forum, we will not tolerate wanton self-promotion.

Okay? Thanks.

Well I was 19 in 1996 but I still don't recognize that song. What is it?

Edit: Just looked it up. LOL, Big3 listened to Jammin' 94.5 as yoot.
