I saw him in concert on the New Haven Green earlier in the summer. F'ing amazing concert. He did a totally fantastic cover of Zeppelin's "When the Levee Breaks" as well. Really really great stuff.

TMC were disrespectful by their attempt at blatant mimicry. The Residents were trying to go about it that way, where as TMC just failed at being parrots. It sounRAB dated, down-tuned for commercialism, everything that Tim Buckley's version doesn't sound like. It's not a 'totally different' take. It's an attempt to cash in on EXACTLY what Tim did. It ranks among the worst covers of all-time. I don't have anything against covers when they aren't so drenched in selfishness.
