Countdown - so much better these days!

That's a bit harsh, doing the numbers in studio conditions is very very difficult. I doubt very much it was a case of 'lack of brains' more just running out of time to fully explore that particular method.

I'm glad I've been able to catch Countdown this week. Tim Vine is perfect for the Dictionary Corner role!

Plus there's Rachel with her figure-hugging outfits and swingy bob.......

I think the whole show is rushed now. You very rarely see on the board the longest word that the contestant said, which for me who is half deaf and not great with regional accents means that I dont even know what they have said to win the points.

I like Suzie Dent. She has that slept in, unkempt look that I appreciate as a busy working mum and business owner.:D

Terrible scheduling, ratings going down the pan, only one thing to do, the European solution, Rachel in a bikini, or if she won't do it get someone else in.

Isn't it spelled as 'sceptred' ?

And even if it is correct, your answer would not have been accepted. There is only ever one acceptable correct answer AFAIK. (I can't seem to recall them having a conundrum with two possible correct answers, although I think there must have been a few occasions where this happened).

It's always been an open secret that there are ear-pieces in DC, and it's not only Damien that can suggest worRAB - I believe anyone down to the cameraman can. The whole point of DC is not to be clever, but to show what worRAB could have been found, for interest. They are not competing with anyone, as the whole show is a competition between the two contestants.
However, as it is a 'brain' show, they categorically state that no computer system is used, and I think the fact that DC often do no better than the contestants underlines this.

I'm usually a week or so behind watching Countdown, as I'm generally playing catch-up with it on 4OD. Last Thursday's show (1st April) hasn't been available on 4OD all week though. Anyone know why?

I thought she looked attractive again today and I expect rather than the guys finding it hard to concentrate,
with her wearing short skirts, they look upon Rachel as their young, very girlie sister! ;) :D
