Countdown - so much better these days!

I don't think the c*** one is genuine...

However, I was at a recording a couple months back, the first 3 letters picked by Rachel were C,U,N.

The contestant was just debating whether to go for a consonant, when the studio manager stepped in and the round was restarted.

(As it happened, the next letter would have been S, but there was a lot of obvious reaction from contestants and audience...)
 
Yay. Great to have some new support for Rachel and Jeff. If people watched it with fresh eyes, they'd find it's a perfectly watchable little show. Jeff's funny and a natural presenter and Rachel's number ability lately has been phenominal.

It was good to see her on the Despatches Maths documentary, a couple of weeks ago, and how the mini Countdown contest between parents and pupils got the kiRAB motivated and enjoying Maths much more.
 
I'm thrilled for Jeff and Rachel. There's such a feel good atmosphere now, you can just tell Jeff loves it! I was an early, Richard days watcher and didn't hold out much hope, after the Des squared disasters, but Jeff and Rachel turned it all around and as long as you watch it with fresh eyes, (and loving Countdown itself helps) it's a great little show.
 
I love that Countdown has always been a great place for Aspies to shine, in spite of finding the eye contact and social chit chat quite challenging. Jeff is always patient and respects this.

O man someone tell rachel that long hair style makes her look less like a sex bomb and more like a supply teacher aka not sexy although still quite good looking.
I think rachel's sex phase is over. It was good while it lasted i guess
 
Yeah I can certainly take the stuff about Carol and botox ..etc.

Reading some of what I've written it may seem as if I am against Rachel which I am not really (apart from the MUFC bit - lol) - I still watch Cdown and always will. I guess too that my moan about excessive money spent on clothes is not really valid as the amount spent is down to the producers who will decide how much they want her to have.

Truth is that I am not a lover of celebrity culture full stop and sometimes it seems that Cdown panders to that more than i would want it to

One of my main reasons for loving Cdwon is that I am a Maths teacher and love Maths tbh - and Rachel is very good at that and I admire her more for that than anything about her figure or clothes - altho yesterday unlike the contestants I did the numbers in the 30 seconRAB and she needed more time to do it. But that does not happen often I have to admit - I am usually as good if not better than most contestants but not as good as Rachel who is exceptional.
