Countdown - so much better these days!

Countdown has recently become a competition of who can memorise the dictionary the best. Obviously the viewer participation is what keeps fans watching but it would be nice to have an element of competition again.

Lol, her 'body shaper' garment was SO SO visible underneath!! BAD wardrobe department!! (looked like she was wearing very thin cycling shorts underneath the dress!) - and I don't have HD just an old fashioned tv, lol

xx

Sachs' appearance at the beginning of the year must have have been the worst ever, where he said hardly anything.

Odd choice for the very first week with the new presenters.

I'd quite like to see Carol Vorderman as the guest one week, that would generate some interest.

Love the Kirkulator - as his students call him! :p This week has been great entertainment (Peter his opponent yesterday was funny, when he said he had a ten). If there's a nine there, no matter how obscure, he'll find it. Is 130 one of the highest ever scores?

Good episode today: Tim Vine was gagtastic and the challenger was quite tasty!

Makes a refreshing change to have 2 fairly young female contestants on consecutive days as the average age of the females seems to be much higher than males. Might partly explain why there's invariably more men/ boys in finals than women...

The name that sprang immediately to mind was Julian Fell. Just google his name for loaRAB of links re various Countdown recorRAB, including 9-letter worRAB and highest scores.

It's filmed in Manchester now at Granada Studios and it isn't difficult to get tickets, go to Countdown page on Channel 4's website and you can E-Mail from there, thats what I did, I went to the recording on 23rd February, and the episodes will be shown at the end of the next week, I might see myself in the audience, with any luck...! :D

They always seem to have tickets available, I've had a few e-mails from ITV Studios promoting recordings for Countdown and University Challenge, I'd recommend going if you get the chance, I'm certainately going to again, I even got to meet Jeff and Rachel at the end of the recording, and got their autographs, both lovely to meet too.

I'm so glad that annoying Ed bloke has been beaten at last. He just seemed to take it all way too seriously. I don't think I've ever seen anyone so openly competitive on Countdown. I think he even shouted
