I need an additional 60amps of power to run my new audio system.I'm considering using an optima yellow top in the rear of my wagon. What I need to know is if my stock alternator could charge this battery.I think my alternator is 110 amps

Years ago GM had a dual battery system in their diesel pickups. They ran off of one alternator.

I bought a special adapter about 10 years ago, to charge two batteries in the same car. It "knows" when one battery was charged, and to direct the additional charge to the second battery. This device is in my garage in the USA now, I can't look at it now for you, sorry.
I think the PROPER way to do it is MORE complicated than just hooking two batteries to your ONE alternator.
Be careful you don't end up with a burned-out voltage regulator, or two undercharged batteries.

Yes, they will be fine. When you add a 2nd battery in your trunk tho, make sure to run a large enough + cable from the front to the rear... not some little 8 gauge wire. And ground the 2nd battery to the frame as close to it as possible... you may also want to run a - cable from rear to front to help a little also.

You should be fine, although it wont be very good for your alt, but im assuming you are already expecting to hear this. Buy a battery charger to put on your battery after every 2-3 days of use to keep it fresh.

Cheers.

Well your car Alt wont run 110amps all the time. But yes it would charge 2 battries fine. but you could always get a second truck alt. Either way that is fine to charge the battries.
