Don't put words in my mouth. I *specified* Chopped and Top Chef when
I said "desperate". Iron Chef is boring and I hate the initial
concept.

Ditto. I don't like their evening programming. I'd like to see more
of their daytime programming in the evening... but that's what a DVR
is for, I guess. I'm getting a second or third generation Google
television as soon as I can (after the bugs have been ferreted out),
so I can go to FN and watch full episodes of what I want to watch
whenever I want to watch it.

That's not a safe food handling practice... once those ingredients are
mixed it's best to cook that right away... and then refrigerate and
reheat the next day, or immediately freeze.

Well he must be doing something right in the military because he will have
his 30 years in next year. They got rid of a lot of people this year due to
cutbacks. He wasn't one of them.

Honest to Pete, at least I'm consistent... I hate Throwdown. I like
Boy Meets Grill and I haven't caught his Brunch show on Saturdays, but
I'm sure I'll like it too.

I just think that since FN is so hung up on cooking competitions (as
it seems most of the rfc members who commented are too), pitching
their on-air chef's against each other is fitting. Besides, I like
Ann Burrell. Not sure who else is competing.

He doesn't currently live here. So when he is here, he is not going to work
or a class or anything. So there is nothing I have to do in regard to him
and getting him out the door.

OTOH, daughter has a dance class one day of the week and we have to be out
the door at a certain time. Because of this there are only a few meals I
will fix on this night. Only things that can be fixed and eaten quickly.

Cooking is not really a priority for me unless I am at a crucial stage of
the recipe. Since husband doesn't live here, he tends to call here while I
am cooking dinner. He knows what time I usually fix dinner so I feel he
knows full well what he is doing. So I will simply tell him I will call him
later. Now if it is another person calling, I will give them the benefit of
the doubt and I will stop what I am doing if I can and talk for a few
minutes. If I am doing something like deglazing a pan or reducing a sauce,
then I will tell them I will have to call them back later.

I look forward to it too! One of my favorite shows is (I know they are
re-runs but it's still on) Jacques Pepin where he does fast food his way.
On his older show he would cook using only leftover things from the
refrigerator.

We would probably be fighting daily, When he would start the
hollering for food I would just sit down and start watching tv. If he
wanted to know when he can eat I would tell him when he cooks his
dinner, that's when he can stuff his face.

You know he only does this because you allow it, don't you?

Vegetables can be cooked or raw for my taste. I prefer all meats cooked to
well done. Grains to be baked. Again it must be in my DNA.
