Hi, I am about to purchase a Hifonics OLM1612 OLYMPUS and I have a 4000 watt quantum audio amp. If connected will it blow the amp, sub or both? I had a bad experience one time when I purchased 2 12" kicker L7 to a 2000 watt amp and it ended up blowing both the amp and both subs which was very strange because I had the level on super low. And I replaced the same fuses to the amp that blew and it kept on popping them. I checked the ground connection and it was good same as the power wire. I know a bit about sound systems but not much so please enlighten me about this purchase if it good or bad, and why. Thank you.

This setup should not blow. The quantum amp is rated at 2000w rms and 4000 peak. Usually these types of amps are so over rated that you are probably looking 1000 rms and 2000 watts peak. Just start with your gain low and work your way up to how loud you want it, but to where the music does not distort the sub.
