So I wrote something new this week.
Go me.
I might crit some, then post it.

Also, we had one of those later-life guidance things like for uni and that and the councillor asked me what I was good at I was like er english and art and she laughed and said neither of those subjects will get you definate careers.

That is apsolutely craptastically hilarious.

Well, my band is another chic that plays the guitar, and me. Yes, I like the simplisity of it. I sing and write, and she plays the guitar. It is purty sweet. I have talked to her about expanding the group, I have found decent people I like, but she is stuck on the 'Two Chics In A Band' deal. We havent been a 'band' to long, but it is fun, but time consuming and agrivating most of the time. I cant give enough time to it to make any decent songs or anything. But this weekend I am devoting myself to it! Lol,

And yes, 'You think that you're just great don't you ', I do... :D

And this is my fault for not letting you go forward with all your inane ideas

I see

Everyone leaves S&L once in a while because songwriting forums aren't the most interesting places on the internet no matter what you do

yeah i guess it can be hard to separate the two. i used to write poetry a lot and when i started writing more prose, all my sentences were always too long or trying to hard too be "good lines", like in poetry. just takes time man.

The rule against joke songs is to prevent (try to, at least) new users from posting a lot of dumb, unfunny songs. I think if you've been around for a while and it's obvious you put a lot of work into a humorous song, then it's okay. I'm not a mod, though. :)

And I think people just want feedback. It really doesn't matter if you have conflicting tastes as long as your comments are reasonable and open-minded.

effing hell... what's happened to this place?

I only posted my piece this time yesterday, and already I've got 5-6 good full critiques! (and that's not including black dots and crits owed) - this is a really good bunch of newbs we have here.

Maybe this could be a turning point? *crosses fingers*
