Community Thread / Tips and Questions

^I've decided that I need more electronic stuff. any recommendations? I've just got a tax refund so I can go to the music store and pick some stuff up.

np: lucinda williams.

damn. girl got writing skills.

Also I've just realised that we still lack a mod. I thought pixies was going to be modded or something. Not really urgent, just a thought...

Quoted for tr00f

And FA: do you just download loops and stuff from the internet? And I've got a key-gen so I can just reinstall if i need to register. The new song is cool, it sounRAB alot like midi (fault? i don't know). next on my list of things to figure out is the synthesiser/midi keyboard thing that comes built in.

And I dont listen to much electronica really. Trip hop is cool, so like Dj shadow massive attack portishead etc. And kid a/amnesiac era radiohead i suppose. And the new thom yorke album. I know FA doesn't like radiohead though.

You've still got a theme for free writing...for example:

Read the roses, and the way the say:
"Let's drown in crimson glory."
Tear the flower, leave the stem
and the bloodied thorns, peircing
Skin and heart in an effort at being romantic.

Slowly, crimson fades to pink, to black.
Slowly, the petals fall to the floor -
And Only the bloodied thorns remain

Has a theme, but it's still pretty much just free verse. (by the way, I wrote this a few weeks ago, but didnt bother to post it because I feel it's kind of substandard and Im still trying to edit it to the correct quality.)

Yeah. If you have a "deadline" for a song, like the next practice or something, it usually helps make me write it. Hah.

Same goes for my essays in school... I usually get 2-3 weeks to write it and start at 2am the day it's due. I score pretty well and sometimes I dont remember most of what I wrote, but I cant get work done if I have anything else that I could do.

Not saying writing is like an essay for school... but I find deadlines help push me.

I just need to start writing again.

It's impossible for me to fathom what it's like for someone who is born blind...To have no specific references, yet to "hear" references. They know not what colors are.

Do they even know what darkness is? If they don't, what do they see? Ambient nothingness? Or do they actually see, just not what, or as we do? If you don't know what darkness is, what difference does it make? If it's all you think there is, is it not all that is?

Solipsism. Mind-bending.

i just wrote the best

sh!t the world has seen
