Community Thread / Tips and Questions

I'm actually in agreement with you about this. The main problem with S&L is the lack of regular members. There's you and D, APS,RollerQueen, Sloth, DopedDog, IronWeed,Zepplinfan,Tojes,Cybergasm, DiscoDragon, Bowl of Oranges and some others that i've forgotten(sorry). Compare that to the guitar forum and it's a relatively small list.

The only way that things will improve is if new posters in S&L recieve no crits until they've critted a few themselves, and that seems pretty harsh. We could try posting in their threaRAB with a promise to crit their work if they do a few first, and reasonably in depth. I crit verse by verse, but that's only my preference because i like working that way. Crits that are a paragraph or so are fine if they give strong and weak points, RollerQueen's crits are very good and in this style.

I don't know if all the regulars agree to this system of promising crits in return for a bit of evidence of good userness(i know it's not a word), but if they do then this may solve the problem. The people who come on and give three word crits and expect a deconstruction of their stuff would either change their ways or leave. Either would be good for S&L.

Just my two cents(or pennies, meh). If you all think it's a good idea then Post your support, and we can get started trying the idea out right away.

Ok I have a question...

My band is just finishing up our songs for our forthcoming E.P...I'd really like some crit for all the lyrics on it but I realise the rules state one song a day...Is it not okay for me to like...make one thread of all the lyrics for all five of our songs and let people crit them as a whole collection? It'd just make things a lot easier because I'd really like some feedback on the literary quality of our music.

If neccessary I'll crit like, 20 in return :P hehe

psst modernism came first, dada led to post modernism

I love Eliot. But I can't really help you seeing as there's so much to the poem. Better of going to Jstore or something and reading through a few articles.

What's the essay title?

Edit: I've decided to rethink my latest piece. I'm going to combine it with another that I was unhappy with, moving some of the subjects and lines around. Guess I'll post it soon. Either tonight or tomorrow
