Hey all. I'm back. Finally. I missed you all so much! So what's happened since I've been away. I heard that Subtle isnt mod anymore, is that true? And what's with all the noobs? Who's cool and whos a new great addition. Fill me in. :thumb:
 
People coming in here and laughing at the fag when it was not of their business, and not having something worthwhile to back up their flaming. I don't mind it in the pit, but well. I used to care lol.

I don't think so. My heavier load of work has been for about 6 months tops, therefore I guess you don't know me. I could link you to some of my older stuff, If you wish.

And about the dedicated S&L mod, it's highly unlikely. People like Sloth, that have bee nhere for a while a nd have great taste/criticism and such, don't have over 2000 posts, which isn't arecquirement, really, but at least it kinda makes you think "wow, he posts a lot he must be smart lol".
On the other hand (still a bad hand) there isn't that much people/users traffic in this place. At most, on heavily loaded days, you can see 10-15 people in here, and most of the people just get in, sumbit 3 or 4 poems, then run and hide and expect some crits to go on. That's not right. Besides, many of the works in this part of the forum get 20-30 visits, but just 2-3 replies. What the hell...!

I think we need to tighten up that matter. We should, at least, give a little opinion on whatever we read, no matter if it says "lol 1 diddnt enderstnd 1t lol". It's much better to see a bad reply than no reply at all. And the poets are strange people, there's hardly ever someone who rates a lot of poems.
 
That's certainly quite a large difference!!

Since I started writing properly a few months ago my writing hasn't really changed hugely, though I'm still experimenting with my writing.

Since I started writing my style has changed dramatically, from the noob like cliched love songs to what I think is a mature style of poetry.

There is no such thing as too much effort into crits. Just make sure you're giving them to the sort of people who will repay you in kind and you won't be wasting your time.

Plus, a great way to improve your writing is by breaking down other people's. You'll be able to point out your own flaws better.
 
Dude, please don't remind me. Had enough of that in the "education" system. Alls I'm sayin iz... Try making a set rhyme pattern - something you can work with, and then write something to that... You'll be making the rules yourself, you rebel you...
 
Psychology A-Level isn't actually necessary for a psychology degree.

I'm still deciding what I want to do for A-levels. I want to get into technical theatre, but I don't want to close down the options too much.

At the moment I'm looking at English Lit., Physics, Design Technology (I did Electronics at GCSE, but the Electronics A-level is practically the same), and then either Philosophy and Ethics, or Chemistry.


Though I'm currently thinking of not doing the last option and going to the local college for a day a week, rather than doing everything at my grammar school 6th form, to do the C&G Electrotechnical certificate 2330 which is use ful for the theatre stuff.

Still can't really decide though!
 
Really bad, in my opinion. There are a lot of one line crits, and bad songs, with no possible chance of improving.

But there's good stuff here and there, so yeah. :)
