Community Thread / Tips and Questions

So I got some stuff published, found out that I got on both creative writing modules next year and I've been unable to write anything for the last week or so.

And new Elliott Smith album is pretty bitchin'.

Hah, this has like a coffee house feel. The same regulars sitting in couches and recliners opposite of said couch, listening to chilled acoustic versions of catchy pop songs, talking of random things.

you're probably right....me=unoriginal insults :(....but I split with my band and my guitarist and i left to joina couple other guys and the new band is much better, so i'm happy :)

Most sonnets have some sort of set rhyme scheme. There are different types of sonnets, Shakespearean, Petrarchian, etc. The schemes kind of seem offbeat, but that's how they did it back in the day.

I write semi-fiction a lot. But just like DeadReligion said, it's never less than about 20 pages. It seems like a lot, but when you've spent so much time on it, and you really have the feeling for it it kinda flies by.

I also use a lot of description in my writing, I'm a little like Steinbeck in 'Of mice and men' at the start of each chapter he'd have a page or two of description. That's because it was originally written to be performed on stage though, the description at the beginning of each chapter is like the introduction and setting at the beginning of each scene or act in a play.

Would certainly be good fun to read some other peoples work though. As you've said, just leaving comments and stuff instead of full crits.
