Community Thread / Tips and Questions

I've been writing.

I mean:

"Lady sue,
Lady dressed in blue"

is probably the only line I've really come up with over the time, really, thinking of a funk/jazz kind of vibe, but since the whole idea isn't structured or anything like that, then al I can really say is I'm attempting to enter pop rock melodies. You know, to sell myself out.

That and a really, really awful death-metal, cannibal-corpse-esque lyric that just doesn't deserve going out to the public.

Yeah I'd do it now, but I'm just about to go out. Posting to fill up some time before my friend picks me up.

I've got five weeks off for the holiday. Need to stay at home until my loan comes through otherwise I'm ****ed for money. SO I figure I'll get alot of work done while I'm here.

It sucks, because everybody I used to know here is gone.

It's like being the new kid at school, you know? Only, it's elementary school, you're 39, and it's the same school you went to when you were in 5th grade.

I am starting to think I need an avatar.

But it neeRAB to be suitably pretentious.

So it'll either be a picture of James Joyce

or my favourite Rembrandt painting:

This is why we need a new mod; to give me a bigger avatar...

Top o' the morning to you, Jazzy.

Eh I've more or less stopped writing lyrics. And I've stopped reading a lot of the works around here... it might just been backward thinking but it seems like quality has been deteriorating beyond any reconciliable point - you would think that as time goes on, people in general would be improving as writers, yeah? They gain skill, they gain life experience, they learn what works and what doesn't... but the writing around these parts is dismal, on the whole.

Maybe I'm just being too cynical, I don't know. But I don't like much of what I've seen in the first two-thirRAB of 2005 here.

y'know that time late at night when the air crackles with inspiration and you have to write? Well it's that time again for me, but I'm listening to Dylan, and I can't write and listen to music at the same time. So I'm gonna have to skip this masterpiece.
I'm not looking for advice, or sympathy, or tough love, I just thought I'd say this.
