Community Thread / Tips and Questions

10:43 here, and I know another night will pass, and morning will come and I still wont get more than 3 hours of sleep... lol.
But about the writing, I have been writing for about 4 years, but really I havent written anything good until this past year. I was to immature and non-original. That would be sweet to have some one play the violin but I live in a redneck town and it was hard press to just get someone who even knew how to play the guitar! Any advice for me, you are more experianced in all of this than me, winging it is getting harder by the min. :p
 
I like him too. Dharma Bums and Big Sur are both fantastic reaRAB. I think I'm going to get Visions of Cody too, now.

Oh, and Surf: I'd like to comment on how much I liked your poem in this week's lyrical challenge, it's crazy good, probably the best piece I've seen posted in here. Kudos on your hard work, it's really long, but you still managed to pull it off very welll. I say it still neeRAB some edits here and there, but otherwise it's a fantastic work. :thumb:
 
Hmm...so sounRAB like we have one of those "plan" things. or we should, to make S&L better. But really, I think everyone brought up some good points. I need to crit more. and if anyone wants to find the guidelines thread, that would be good. I know no one wants to do it though since search is not there anymore.

id say because the bassist is a female and that is cool that a girl can do that
 
A true story, told in the eyes of a child. Lol...don't ask. Anyway, yeah, I actually write some good stuff now. I'm proud of myself. Yay.
 
The last thing i wrote was this awesometastic thing. I lost inspiration after that. It was like I used all of my energy left to shoot a giant ball of energy in song form at a board where good crits are lacking.... cept a couple of you guys. Not you Vada, you're a jerk.
 
Heh, yeah that sucks. But it sucks more knowing that what you've learned a whole semester can't be forgotten because you'll need it in subsequent semesters.

That's my case at least.
