Community Thread / Tips and Questions

Are you in the first or second year? If its the first, it only been one term so you might be able to change subject...the first term (especially if its your first year) wouldn't have been that intensive, but your teachers may feel that it would take too much to catch up. I know people who switched onto the the media course two terms in, so you could conceivably manage.
But ew to physics and maths. I can't do anything with numbers so stayed well clear.

I blame your thread.

No, I already have the music. I just want to fitt it in with the lyrics, I dont know how it's going to work but yeah the song is about a girl I like for the past month but then she had to leave back to Australia last week because she was an exchange student. And it was very had for us to say goodbye. We both like each other but it couldn't be more because she had to leave soo soon. If you ever heard of love walks in by van halen I want it that style. please me! I'm dedicating this song to her.

I'll tell you what i like. Bob Dylans spoken-word performance of 'Last Thoughts On Woody Guthrie'.. now that right there is impressive.

An excerpt: "And to yourself you sometimes say
"I never knew it was gonna be this way
Why didn't they tell me the day I was born"
And you start gettin' chills and yer jumping from sweat
And you're lookin' for somethin' you ain't quite found yet
And yer knee-deep in the dark water with yer hanRAB in the air
And the whole world's a-watchin' with a window peek stare
And yer good gal leaves and she's long gone a-flying
And yer heart feels sick like fish when they're fryin'"

Yeah but that's pretty much because of PATD and FOB. Although I must admit to liking Fall Out Boy, a lot of these other pop-punk follower group lot irk me in their lyrics.

Thing is, they try to be witty and clever just as FOB do but in some way think that witty and clever is lyrics that make no sense at all with badly thought out metaphors and terrible structure. So they're not only bad lyrics, but they're not even catchy a la Sum 41 or something.

Meh... rant over. And on the subject of emotional Pop-punk sort of thing I've been listening to Thursday loaRAB recently. I really should have got into them before.

Ah, just back from our first big show ever. My entire eighth grade class was there. No one told me you became a God once you play. Needless to say, it went pretty well. So I just feel like sharing my excitement

Are you doing a full on writing course at uni? (I think you've told me before, but where? - how'd the A-levels go?)

The course I'm doing is English lit, and half of the module choices I take are creative writing ones (the maximum allowed/offered), so it might be a bit different.
But in the modules, there were a few people who wrote stuff before hand, and a load of people who hadn't written a thing and signed up for it to have a look really.
A friend of mine had done no writing at all, but still managed to do pretty well.

So I don't know really.

Dammit, I never though about reserving some extra space in my thread... Now I ate up all m space, and I have some posts under already... Let's hope people actually give a**** about suggestions. :)

I rep rarely when I think people deserve it. I sure as heck don't do it when I just see a song I like; rep is pretty much reserved for helping me or by posting exceptionally well.
