Community Thread / Tips and Questions

You're a vet (by my standarRAB) when:

1) Almost everyone you used to talk with on MX has left aside from you, save 1 or 2 people.
2) Everything on MX has gotten dramatically worse than it used to be, and you actually start thinking that it was better when you started, even though it was still bad.
3) You've been here (consistently) for at least 1 and a half to 2 years.

All of the above must have taken place.

I wonder why people come here and ask how to apply music to sonwriting when... well. We are writers and lyricists and poets and what not...

Well. I guess I should study morr about music.

On a related, yet reall, really sad note I hate institutionalized school systems and the fact that they don't want long-haired punks in their schools.

God I hate kissing ass just for a scholarship. :upset:

Hey guys, I just got back from band practice... the stuff we wrote is coming along really well... but now I have to do work and write actual lyrics rather than just screaming and growling incoherently :upset:.

Unfortunately I'm having a writers block.

So far I've been able to come up with really really really generic pseudo political lyrics:

I see the empires
Begin to fall
I see our nation
Crumbling
Degression of humans
Back to primal
Loss of all culture
In full chaos

and then I don't know what the hell else to put... should I feel dirty from that horrid display?

Im looking to play prog, but alas, my guitarist just wants to play Slayer, and Metallica, and you know, things like that. They get boring after about the tenth time.

Doesn't that make you feel like you're forcing them? I like to write in a little poetry journal type thing, and I like to not feel rushed while writing. I write what comes to me over time, but maybe that's the case for you, just in a smaller time window. Whatever works for you, my friend.

Heh no, I'm Caleb. I can't sing to save my life. I did the guitar, lyrics, bass, effects and production on those songs is all. My girlfriend calls me The Banzo and I figure it makes me sound like a collective.

It's been spiralling every month apparently. Not a month goes by when someone doesn't think it was better way back when.
I haven't seen much of note this past month though so yea.
